Brief Update (Mobile Version Issues)

Before I get to the not so good news... featured above is a single ass-shot of the updated photorealistic lighting and skin shading from the upcoming V0.04 release. (PC visuals shown above)

Now for the not so good news 😞

Unfortunately, progress on releasing the next version (V0.04) has progressed slowly over the last weeks due to a series of issues I've encountered while getting the mobile version stable and ready for release.

Basically, in order to streamline the development process I made the decision to develop with a focus on the lowest common denominator (i.e. mobile). The idea is then to bump up the visuals and physics settings for PC and Mac versions just prior to releasing, as that workflow just seemed to make the most sense from an efficiency point of view.

However, to make this workflow work efficiently it would help if the mobile version was actually stable, which at the moment it is not.

Now while I can once again delay the mobile version and shift the focus entirely back to developing and releasing entirely on PC as the dev platform (+ Mac), I fear that will quickly become a convenient decision that I will find myself repeating ad nauseum.

I'd much prefer taking a little extra time to finally get a working mobile version ready, so that I can finally cross that bridge (metaphorically) and not keep resorting to postponing a mobile release that I had promised to more than a few patrons quite a few months ago at this point.

( Edit - 19/02/2025 00:05 UTC) - thanks to matthew jones for the suggestion to include the below reasoning in the main body of the post )

Why even choose to prioritize fixing and preparing a mobile version inspite of the delays it is causing to the PC and Mac releases?

To put it simply, I feel pursuing a release on mobile platforms - Android and iOS in particular - which according to all statistics I can find are the most popular devices/platforms in the world, would really help the project going forward.

While the PC versions will of course always remain the best way to play and will likely evolve into having a unique set of features that may not ever make it into the mobile releases (think Free-Roam game modes), having a mobile version would no doubt help grow this Patreon more quickly, which in turn would allow me to commit more time to the project, as I would be in a position to replace more of my salaried income (from full time employment) with my Patron earnings, and therefore be able to work part-time/freelance and have more free time during my weekdays to work on the project.

As much as I don't want to burden Patrons with discussions around things not directly pertaining to playable features, characters or the otherwise enjoyment of the project, it is an inescapable reality that time is always a limited resource and the financial success of the project would allow me more time and/or help to work on it.

Currently, I would be lucky to have anywhere around 1 hour to spend on the project each week day. With most of the work only being possible on weekends (assuming I don't have pre-arranged family commitments)

So growing the community (especially the number of subscribers) by having a mobile version of each release is something I feel i need to prioritize for the betterment of the project as I predict it would allow me to eventually be able to commit lots more hours to it going forward.

=====

Apologies to those of you that are not even remotely interested in a mobile version. However, with about 80% of the viewers on any video I've ever uploaded to Twitter or Rule34 doing their watching on a smartphone, I hope you can understand that requests for a mobile version are more than a little frequent.

P.S. With that said.. If I fail to make significant progress on the mobile version imminently, I will obviously be forced to delay the mobile version once again as I will once again be having another lengthy period without a release.

It won't be in the very next version that is releasing soon (V0.04). However, since l plan on adding Futa options to the main (currently only female) character in a future release, I will be happy to expand the options so you can customize the main character to have a penis as well as change their body types from female to male. πŸ‘

Appreciate the reply , only asking you don't venture down a path with diminishing returns while financial supporters are left lagging. Cannot say how long but lets say 5 mobile updates later your realizing there isn't a significant boost to in paying subscribers. In that case maybe allocate more time to the pc. Btw to grow subscribers your better off luring in them with teasers on social media which are "Rique" enough to sir interest and not be banned for voiding their tos. Women do it daily on places like IG and X while promoting their onlyfans etc. It's a better funnel than appeasing enough to free loaders that they decide to pay.

i can respect that and i think alot of other people can as well. might i suggest putting this in a public post and pinning it to your page then so people can understand this is a young community and project if that makes sense. and post life updates. hope my words help.

I take your point. And to answer your question at the end, most currently subbed are playing on PC. However, like I pointed out in the comment below, I feel pursuing a release on the largest device/platforms in the world - Android and iOS (according to pretty much every statistic I can find) is something I simply must do for the sake of this project going forward. The PC version will of course always remain the best way to play, but having at least some mobile presence would allow for this Patreon community to grow more quickly, which in turn would allow me to commit more time to the project as a whole, as I would be in a position to finally replace more of my salaried income (from full time employment) with my Patron earnings. The sad reality is I don't have as much free time in my days as I would like or need and as one might assume. In truth I would be very lucky to have anywhere around 1 hour to spend on the project each week day. With most of the work only being possible on weekends (assuming I don't have pre-arranged family commitments) So growing the community (especially the number of subscribers) by having a mobile version of each release is something I feel i need to prioritize for the betterment of the project as it would allow me to eventually be able to commit lots more hours to it going forward.

I do, however it's a little more complicated. The truth is I need to take steps to grow the Patreon in order to eventually replace more of my income (day job) with my Patreon earnings, so I can eventually commit much more of my time to working on the project instead of devoting that time to the day job. I recognize that in order to get this project more quickly to where I envision it going in the coming weeks and months, I will need more free time to commit to it, and the best way to achieve that is to take steps to grow this Patreon's subscriber base. And the quickest way to achieve that it is to significantly expand the number of people that can download and interact with each release. I apologize for delving into that side of things as I know Patrons don't want to hear about any of that, but finances and how that relates to my time commitments are unfortunately an inescapable reality. It is for that reason I really do think a mobile release would be useful to pursue as it is the largest platform around. I do recognize though that it is clearly to the detriment of PC patrons (at least at this present moment), but hopefully not for too much longer.

p.s. i'm not an expert. this is just my two cents as feed back.

while i understand mobile users pain. if i might make a suggestion. most project's like this don't do to well for mobile users in the long run. notice how i said most. also most mobile users now days are ether playing on something like a steam deck or a laptop (witch means a mobile P.C). if i may with this being said and as a suggestion. sperate the versions that come out. based off who has more issues. will it suck for mobile users. yes. but at the same time it won't suck for mobile users who also have a laptop or other mobile device that can run it like its on P.C. something else to consider. what's the ratio of mobile vs pc and mac currently subbed? hope this all makes sense.

matthew jones

I hope you also factor in paying subscribers with this analysis
