Minor Patron Tier Change - Poll
Added 2021-05-22 12:04:53 +0000 UTCHey guys, I have been thinking on making some adjustments to the tier system, mostly with the $1 tier New Challenger.
The biggest reason for this is because of Processing Fees. A $1 tier after fees from Patreon and credit processors, results in only $0.67. Raising the tier to $2 would increase that to ~$1.64 which is over 2x increase!
The second reason feeds off of this, and it's that increasing the pledge amount will help to propel me over the $2k hurdle, which I really want to break so that I can start tapping some very talented spriters/animators for extra content. In other words, I want to be able to reinvest back into the patreon, which isn't fully feasible at the moment.
As far as i'm concerned, any amount of support and loyalty that you guys have lended to me is fantastic and deeply appreciated. For that reason, what I personally was leaning torwards making the current $1 a legacy tier - This would leave things as is for everyone currently in the $1 tier, but make it no longer attainable for new patrons, who would have access to $2 and up tiers. But i'd love to hear you guys input. Let me know what you think!
If there is any change, i'll let you all know well in advance, so don't fret about anything happening in the immediate future.

2021-05-23 15:19:00 +0000 UTC$1 is really, really low for the amount of work you do, just raise it. if someone wont pay an extra buck theres literally nothing you can do for them i dont think its terribly wise to make this a poll because people are naturally going to vote to pay less money every time
2021-05-22 16:50:45 +0000 UTCIt's actually possible to prevent this by explicitly setting the tiers allowed to view certain content instead of "all patrons" or just individual tiers, but I've never done it before. I don't think a lot of people would start doing custom $1 pledges en masse, so I dont think i would -have- to, but the option is there if I needed it for some reason
2021-05-22 12:32:04 +0000 UTCI don't believe it is possible to prevent people making a custom pledge of $1 and accessing the rewards this way. At least not to my knowledge.
