Hana's Not-so-Frightful Feast

“Miko, I did it! I did it - I did it - I did it!”

Shortly after seeing her bestie waiting for her at their usual meeting spot in town, Hana had charged full-tilt to give her a gargantuan hug. She was so excited that she just had to share it!

“H-Hana- can’t b-breathe…” Miko managed to say.

Hana froze. “Whoops!” She let Miko go and stepped back, grinning. “Sorry Miko. But still, I did it! I got in!”

Miko brushed off her plain teal sweatshirt, then gave Hana a warm smile. “I did too.”

Hana’s heart was soaring for joy within her chest. “Then we’re really gonna go to the same uni! It’s like a dream come true! Aaah, I’m so excited!”

“Mhm,” Miko agreed, “I don’t know if I could make it through college without you.”

Hana grinned widely. “Hehehe! I love you too, Miko!”

The black-haired woman smiled back. “Hey, we should do something to celebrate.”

Hana clapped her hands together and bounced up and down, eyes sparkling. “Yeah, we totally should! We go get ice cream! No, wait- we should get crepes! I love that place down by the station! Or we could ask your mom to bake us a cake! We can do it after Yuria takes her entrance exams and celebrate all together!”

“I knew you’d go straight to food…” Miko sighed. She reached into her pocket. “We can celebrate with Yuria later, but I actually already have something for us.”

With her eyes glued to Miko’s rummaging hand, Hana said aloud, “Aww, you believed that I’d pass!”

“If you didn’t, I was gonna give you these to comfort you.”

Hana puffed out her cheeks. “Jerk! So what is it?”

Miko pulled a couple of slips of paper out of her pocket and handed one to Hana. “Vouchers for an all-you-can-eat special they’re having at the family diner near my house. You always said you wanted to try an American buffet someday, right? The waitress said this would be pretty close when I bought the vouchers.”

The redhead took the ticket and stared at it. Her stomach rumbled in anticipation even though she had had some melon bread on the train ride here. She looked back up at Miko, tears of joy sparkling in the corners of her eyes. “M-Mikooo-! You’re the *sniff* best!”

Her raven-haired friend laughed softly and smiled. “I just happened to notice the special on my way here today and it looked fine inside, so I jumped on it.”

Hana blinked. “Looked fine?”

“Th-The food,” Miko continued, her smile twitching. “The food looked fine even though they were serving a lot of it. What would be the point of having all that food if it didn’t taste good, right?”

“...You thought of everything!” Hana cried. She once again latched onto her dear friend, rubbing her cheek on Miko’s. “You’re the best friend someone could ever have! I’m so glad we’re going to college together!”

Miko looked a bit pale. “M-Me too, Hana. Now p-please- can’t breathe

Hana stepped into the diner, eyes alight and nose flaring. She couldn’t believe this was really happening! She loved food so much and she was always getting hungry all the time (it even seemed to be happening more often lately). So something like this where she could totally eat her fill until she was full was like a dream come true!

Miko handed in the vouchers and the two college-bound women were led to a booth. Hana tapped on the table excitedly while Miko looked at a menu. The slightly taller woman glanced up. “Don’t you need to decide what you want?”

“I already know!” Hana said. She grinned evilly and crossed her arms under her (more than modestly sized) chest. “I’m gonna start off with two burgers, then decide what to get next once I’m there!”

Miko shut her eyes. “I think I’d be done after just the two burgers…”

Hana uncrossed her arms and pouted. “Aw, c’mon! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! When else are you gonna be able to eat as much as you want?”

“Most days. I don’t usually want m-” Miko cut off in the middle of her sentence. Her eyes flickered to something above Hana’s head, then back down to her. She swallowed, then continued, “I don’t usually eat that much, s-so two burgers would be plenty for me.”

Hana squinted at Miko. Her friend often had these moments where she would act a bit weird, but that was fine. Miko was still Miko, after all. She just hoped that she wouldn’t try and make Hana leave early. “Maybe it would be normally, but you have the chance to eat more today! You should try to-”

“Hello!” A voice cut in. Hana stopped and looked over at the waitress that had appeared. The woman smiled and continued,  “You two turned in vouchers for our special promotion, right? What can I get you started with?”

Before Miko could say anything, Hana declared, “We’ll both have three burgers! I’ll have everything on mine, but make hers without onion, please! Oh, and two strawberry milkshakes!”

The waitress finished writing and nodded. “I’ll have it out shortly!” Then she left.

Hana snickered as Miko glared across the table at her. “Why would you do that?” She asked pointedly.

“What are you talking about?” Hana asked innocently, avoiding Miko’s gaze. “I made sure yours didn’t have onions, so I got it all right, right?”

Hana whistled a bit (very poorly), then snagged a glance back at Miko. Her friend stared at her for a moment longer, then just sighed and shook her head. “No, it’s fine. But I thought you were only getting two to start?”

Hana shrugged. “Did I say that? I don’t remember~.”

Miko sighed again. Her eyes flicked back up and down again, then she said, “I’m gonna head to the toilet before the food gets here.”

“Ok!” Hana said cheerfully. She hummed to herself as Miko walked stiff-legged past her. Her stomach growled plaintively and Hana whimpered. She was so hungry all of a sudden! She felt almost sick from how hungry she was. Why was she such a bottomless pit?

She was about to pull out her phone to distract herself when the waitress came back with six plates on a serving tray. Hana stared at the plates, which held three burgers apiece. “That was so fast!”

The waitress started setting plates on the table. “We kicked out a group of thugs before you got here but their order didn’t get canceled in time. Lucky you, huh?”

Hana licked her lips. “Super lucky! I’m soooo hungry right now! Hey, can I get two yakisoba bowls after this?”

“Sure, I’ll put that in now,” The waitress replied.

“Thanks!” Hana said quickly before turning her full attention to the burgers in front of her. She had expected them to be small since it was all-you-can-eat, but these were full-sized burgers! Full-sized and glorious and tasty! And all hers!

She picked one up and took a huge bite. The hot juices practically ran down her throat as she chewed up the delectable hamburger and crunched through lettuce and onion and mushed up the tomato. She ravaged her whole first burger in a matter of seconds and hadn’t even swallowed before grabbing her next to do the same.

Just as Hana was licking her fingers after her second inhaled burger, Miko slid back into the seat opposite her. “The food’s here already? That was-” Her eyes cut to Hana’s plate. “Wait, shouldn’t you have three? Don’t tell me…”

“I was starving!” Hana said off-handedly, grabbing a napkin to wipe the saliva off of her fingers. She picked up her third burger and took another massive bite. It still tasted just as good as the first one had! “I dunno why-” She started, her voice muffled by food, “-But I’m waaaay hungrier than usual today!”

“Ehhh, really?” Miko replied, looking down as she picked up her own burger. “I couldn’t imagine why.”

The third burger was demolished just as rapidly as the first two. Hana wiped off her fingers again and licked her lips. That should satisfy her belly for a little whi-

*GrrRRRrrRRRoooooooOOooOOaaaaAaarrR*

A pink flush crept up Hana’s face as she clutched her stomach. She could feel a small food baby forming under her shirt and yet she was still famished! “Ooooh, I just ate! So whyyyy?” she whined.

Miko avoided looking at Hana as she chewed on her own burger. “Maybe something is off with the food. We should probably leave.”

Hana’s eyes widened. “But it's all-you-can-eat! And you bought this for me! This is a precious opportunity from my precious friend! We can’t just leave!”

“Yeah, right...” Miko said as if she had known Hana’s answer even before the busty redhead had said anything. She sighed, then took another small bite. “At least it tastes good…”

“It does!” Hana declared, nodding. “Although now I kinda wished that I had waited for my milkshake. That would’ve tasted sooo good with the burgers…”

As if on cue, the waitress returned with two milkshakes and two yakisoba plates. “Here you go!” She set a milkshake down in front of both of the seated women, then went to set the yakisoba plates down when she spotted the empty plate. “Wow, you weren’t kidding when you said you were hungry, huh?”

“Nope!” Hana sang, already drooling at the smell of the yakisoba. “Speaking of which, can I get three more burgers to go with this milkshake?”

The waitress nodded. “We don’t have anymore already made, so you’ll have to wait a few minutes this time. And anything else for you, miss?” She asked while looking at Miko.

Miko had been steadfastly staring at her own half-eaten burger. She started at the waitresses' voice, then hastily shook her head. “N-No, this should be more than enough.”

“I’ll be right back with those burgers then!” The waitress said promptly before walking away.

Hana had already forgotten about her burgers, though. She was pulling apart a pair of chopsticks and greedily picking up a heavy load of noodles from her plate. She shoved them into her mouth and practically swooned at the taste of the pan-fried noodles. She could never get enough of this taste! She shoveled more and more noodles into her impatient maw, chewing the bare minimum to get more of that greasy taste before swallowing them all down.

Before she knew it, Hana had emptied a whole plate of noodles. She set her chopsticks down for a moment and frowned. “Miko… I think I have a problem…”

“E-Ehhh? What would that be?” Miko said distractedly. She had just finished her first burger and was already sweating. Maybe three burgers really were too much after all?

Hana crossed her arms under her bust, pressing up against the top of her slightly bulging belly. She stared at Miko. “I… I think I’ve ascended…”

Miko looked up at Hana for the first time in a while. “...What?”

“I’ve ascended!” Hana declared once again. “I still feel totally empty even though I’ve eaten so much! A human couldn’t do that! Here, you can feel how full my stomach is if you-”

“I believe you!” Miko stammered, shying away from Hana’s reaching hand. Her eyes seemed to be trembling for some reason. “A-About being full, not your ascension. I don’t think you’d ascend just from being a glutton.”

“I’m not a glutton!” Hana cried, pouting. “I’m just really, really hungry all the time! You’re probably right about the rest though.”

Miko smiled, though it seemed a bit forced. “D-Don’t let the rest get cold. You like Yakisoba better hot, right?”

“Yeah!” Hana responded, immediately pushing the previous conversation out of her head. She picked up her chopsticks again and carried a heaping helping of noodles into her mouth. She wasn’t sure why she was so hungry right now, but the only thing to do for a hungry belly was eat, right? So she would just keep eating!

Just as Hana polished off her second helping of Yakisoba, the waitress returned with her next three burgers. As she set them down, she glanced at the already empty noodle plates but chose not to comment this time. “Your burgers! Is there anything else I can get you?”

Hana hastily swallowed the last of her noodles and nodded fiercely. “Yeah! Can you get me a hamburg steak, two more plates of Yakisoba, two plates of fried chicken, and some melon soda?”

The waitress stared at Hana for a moment, but then just smiled. “Sure thing. I’ll bring them out as they’re ready.” With that, she left again.

Hana hummed happily to herself as she picked up one of the fresh, hot burgers. One crisp bite led to two, then three, and before she knew it, she had devoured yet another whole meal. As she grabbed her shake to suck down some sweet strawberry goodness, she glanced at Miko. She was halfway through her second burger but was looking rather pale. Hana knit her brows as she said,  “Uhh, Miko? I’m sorry I ordered so much for you. I can eat it instead, so-”

Miko quickly glanced up at Hana, then off to the side. “N-No, that’s not it! I-I mean, it’s… it’s a lot of food, yeah, but I can eat it. Yeah, I can eat it!”

“Hmm?” Hana mused, drinking more of her shake. “If you say so. But I’d be happy to eat the rest if you change your mind!”

The raven-haired woman eyed Hana’s two remaining burgers wearily. “Can you really say that with all the food you’ve ordered and eaten…?”

“Yup!” Hana declared, picking up yet another burger. “I still feel like I haven’t eaten for a million years! So I’m just gonna keep eating until I’m finally full!”

“M-Maybe that’s not a good idea-” Miko began, but Hana was already ripping through her next burger. The woman sighed mournfully, then went back to working through her own food.

The fifth and sixth burgers disappeared down Hana’s throat just as quickly as the rest had. The waitress hadn’t returned yet, so Hana had time to happily sip the rest of her shake and pat her belly. It had swollen a good amount now, making a round dome appear under her pink button-up sweater. It felt hard even through the soft top, but her belly was still growling and rumbling away, so that meant more food!

The waitress didn’t even look surprised the next time she came back and three cleaned plates had been added to the stack. She set down two plates of fried chicken and a melon soda, then left again.

Hana licked her lips and helped herself to the delectable chicken. She expertly separated flesh and bread from bone, swallowing the juicy, crispy chicken as quickly as she could get it into her mouth. Both plates were cleared this way and her melon soda was drained just as quickly.

When the waitress returned with the Yakisoba, Hana ordered another three burgers (they were her favorite so far) and another melon soda. The waitress accepted the order without even blinking. She was quite understanding of Hana’s hunger, apparently.

Two more plates of Yakisoba joined the rest of the food churning inside of Hana’s ever-growing gut. Soon after, the hamburg steak and another melon soda were sent down as well. And then the three burgers. And STILL Hana was hungry!

The ever-famished redhead leaned back in her seat, rubbing her stomach thoughtfully. It was massive now, nearly pressing into the table even as she sat all the way back in her seat. When had that happened? Hana had been too busy eating to tell. She wasn’t surprised though. She had sixteen plates stacked up next to her, plus the soda and shakes. She’d eaten enough food to more than get Miko’s money’s worth.

So then why was she still so darn HUNGRY!?

Miko herself had just finished her third burger. Her eyes were closed and she had a hand clutching her belly. She looked a sickly combination of green and pale now. “Miko, I told you I would’ve eaten it if it was too much!”

The slightly taller woman glanced up at Hana, then down at her clearly bloated stomach. “Y-You look like you’re about to pop. There’s no way you could eat anymore…”

“That’s where you’d be wrong!” Hana declared. “I’m still starving! I think I’m gonna get some more burgers, and maybe one of every type of curry!”

“Aren’t you concerned at all about…?”

Hana blinked, then grinned and slapped her gut. “What, about this? If this was dangerous, then my body would be fighting it like yours is, right? So I’m totally fine!”

Miko eyed Hana’s tight stomach apprehensive. “What part of that is ‘fine’...?”

“The part where my belly is demanding more food! I wonder when that waitress is gonna come back?”

The stack of plates grew higher as Hana ate, then turned into two stacks. Chicken, rice, noodles, hamburgers and hamburg alike, and more glasses of soda than Hana cared to count all wound up in her stomach. Her skin felt tight, but she was still ravenous! Her belly pressed hard against the edge of the table, but fortunately enough the edges were round, so it was more uncomfortable than anything. And still, she ate, ate, and ate!

She was gulping down a bowl of ramen when a creaking sound reached her ears. She froze. It was coming from her middle. Was… was she about to pop? Could that even happen to a person? Could she really eat so much that she exploded? But… but she was still hungry… and the ramen tasted so good… even though the noise was concerning and her belly felt so very tight… just this one last bowl would be fine… right?

She slurped hungrily, ignoring the rising volume of creaking coming from below. Miko said something seemingly important, but Hana wasn’t paying attention. It tasted soooooo good, and it felt so good filling up the bottomless feeling in her stomach! More, more, MORE!

Hana slammed the empty bowl down and let out a satisfied sigh. She relaxed for just one second before a twinge of discomfort shot across her belly. She looked down and realized just how big she had gotten. Her stomach bulged over the top of the table now, though it was probably even more prominent down below. Her boobs were now resting on top of her belly. In fact, compared to the behemoth gut, they somehow didn’t even seem that big anymore.

Her sweater was straining, acres of pale flesh clearly visible through the gaps between buttons. How was that even possible? Shouldn’t her shirt have ridden up? Then Hana noticed that the ominous creaking from earlier was still there, but even louder. Her belly trembled and the creak peaked. She clutched her belly, sweat starting to form on her brow. Oh no no no no-! Was she really about to- to-!

*PING!* *PING PING PING!*

A button zipped off of Hana’s shirt and flew off into a far corner of the diner. Her belly surged into the free space, which immediately popped another button off. Two more buttons followed that one, opening up her sweater all the way up to below her chest.

“Noooooooo!” Hana cried out in despair. She slouched in her seat, sniffling. “Th-This was my favorite sweater…”

A huge exhale from across the table reached Hana’s ears. She looked up to see Miko had a look of relief on her face. The other woman was shaking slightly. “I thought you were going to explode. I really thought you were going to eat until you exploded. You scared me so much!”

“Ehehe~. Sorry!” Hana giggled. She stopped for a moment, then smiled widely. “But hey, I’m finally full! I don’t feel hungry at all anymore!”

Miko stared at Hana’s gut for a moment, then shook her head. “Th-Then we should get going! I’m sure that they need to get to work cleaning all these dishes.”

“Oh yeah! We should!” Hana agreed. She slowly pried herself out of her seat, sliding along the booth until her belly popped free around the edge of the table. It was even bigger than she thought, with her belly button out of reach even if she tried her hardest to reach it. The bottom of her sweater was still miraculously holding together, so her belly was being supported by it kinda like a harness. It felt so weird, but also so cool! Was this what a pregnant woman felt like?

She stood up. She almost immediately tumbled over from the massive amount of extra weight in her middle, but a supporting hand from Miko kept her steady. Hana breathed a sigh of relief and grinned at Miko. “Th-Thanks!”

“You might pop for real if you fall like this, so be careful!” The other woman sighed. “Now c’mon, I’ll walk you home.”

Hana wobbled out of the diner, her stomach happily full for the first time in a long, long time. She really hoped that all this food wouldn’t put any more fat on her boobs, though. She really didn’t want to buy a whole new set of cute bras again…

WHAT WAS THAT -  WHAT WAS THAT - WHAT WAS THAT -  WHAT WAS THAT!?

Miko had only wanted to treat her best friend to a buffet! And she’d even checked the diner out that morning to make sure there weren’t any ghosts in there that would cause problems! So WHY had there been such a giant fat blob of a ghost in there!? WHY!?

And of course, it had stayed glued to Hana the whole time! From what Yuria had told her, Hana’s life force was drained by strong spirits and she replenished that energy from food, so it was no wonder she had eaten enough to turn into a blimp! It was even worse than when they had that psychopath teacher all those years ago! Why did ghosts have to love and affect her best friend so much?

Miko glanced over at Hana walking alongside her. The redhead had apparently gotten used to her new distribution of weight and was happily bouncing along, most of her belly poking out through the many missing buttons in her sweater. Didn’t it hurt to be like that? Wasn’t it heavy? How was she so fine with this?

Miko held her own stomach, which had a small bump from her own three burgers. Hell, she’d only eaten all three since the ghost started to get agitated whenever Hana offered to eat them. She felt sick after eating just those, so how was Hana totally fine with all of that?

She sighed. She was totally exhausted from being terrified for an hour straight. At least the ghost had peeled off of Hana after that obese married couple had come in. A lucky break. Hana might really have popped if she’d kept eating…

Still… Hana was fine with being massively overstuffed like that. She even seemed happy with it. And so Miko was happy for her. She even found Hana’s belly to be kind of… cute? She’d been too on edge earlier when Hana had tried to get her to feel, but she kinda hoped Hana would try again before they parted for the day… Kinda really hoped, actually…
