I am so glad that you guys added captions. I have hearing loss in both ears. I love this show. But many of the characters like to talk very low. It makes it incredible hard to hear them. I can read lips fairly well. But I would rather not do that. As for the show. I do carry a book and my Kindle with me everywhere I go like Isaac. I am not an ace though like Isaac though. I have know I was straight since I was 6 years old when I had my first crush on my classmate. I didn't know that asexual or aromantic was a thing until a few years ago. Yes, I am 32. But I haven't met anyone who told me that they were asexual or aromantic. It's not something that I fully understand. As I have never had those feelings.

As you’re well aware, asexuality and aromantism are both spectrums, but what Charlie and Isacc were talking about here is feeling sexually attracted to someone. It’s implied in their discussion as well as in the sparks flying when Charlie was helping Nick putting on sunscreen earlier. There is now a sexual aspect to his love/attraction for Nick where there wasn’t one before, or if there was, it was more subdued. Aspec people can find others “hot”, but it’s more of an aesthetic appreciation, bc we don’t FEEL anything attached to those thoughts. It’s like admiring a painting if you will, or really liking a specific color shade. Which is why in this conversation, when Charlie asked if Isaac ever felt “butterflies” while looking at someone hot, he answered no. That’s the ace experience in a nutshell (without getting into microlabels and such, of course) Hope this helps!

Asexual people may be repulsed, averse, indifferent, or favorable to sex/sexual activities. Aromanticism: a spectrum that includes people who experience little to no romantic attraction. Aromantic people may be repulsed, averse, indifferent, or favorable to romantic relationships/romantic activities. These are just simple explanations, but are a good baseline to understanding us aro and/or ace people.

2024-10-13 20:43:01 +0000 UTCIn the first season, in the scene where Ben assaults him, Charlie says it's February, and that's before him a Nick are together. I'm not sure how long after that they first kiss but I'd say it's at most a month so they would have gotten together in February or March. Based on the fact that there's 3 weeks of summer holidays left this episode takes place in August so they've been together about 4 or 5 months at this point.
