You really think the idiots in Washington think in greater terms then their 4/6 year term limit?

Klim Kazantsev

It seems that the German chuds went full tilt left after going full tilt right.

Klim Kazantsev

Kiril being a resident of Germany should know how balls to the wall pro Israel the German establishment is. Being pro Israel is a kind of substitute nationalism for them. As for France, their government has said since the Lebanon “ceasefire” that they don’t think that the ICC has jurisdiction over Netanyahu because Israel isn’t a signatory…🤣

Any units that were motivated to fight couldn’t make any difference because the rest of the army somehow was ordered to just retreat. Apparently thousands of Hezbollah troops showed up but they all left after SAA just bolted. NDF units in Qamahe north of Hama were cut off as the rest of the SAA retreated.

JJ

I think most of the analysis surrounding the SAA, in this episode, is pretty silly. SAA and Arab armies in general are obviously not European armies in terms of competence, but the surrender was very clearly a top-down decision and not related to nobody being willing to fight. The initial front broke, sure, but everything that happened subsequently was by design, not Arab cowardice or whatever. The government/military elite just decided that the economic situation was so bad that surrender was worth the chance of improving the situation.

The only thing I wonder about is how does the US/Israel think HTS won't become a direct hostel threat to Israel even more so than Assad? Seems like more short-sided American meddling where an ally to Russia floundering is seen as a benefit despite the fact that the now inheritors of Syria are absolutely set against the West, the US, and Israel. It just makes no f****** sense (the destabilize MO).

Kiril doesn’t get it but I think Nikolai gets it. Foreign bases and land are capabilities. They give options to the ruler. Yes the Arminian base or the Syrian bases have not been useful lately but they will one day be. One day the rules of Russia will thank Putin that we have a base. Look at the American empire. Each ruler of America is building out and extending the American empire simply for the benefit of the next ruler, most often there is no benefit to them at all. For example Bush saw no benefit to him of putting bases in Poland and Romania. But Biden is now using them. Similarly Biden will not see any benefit of putting an American base in Odessa but one day Baron Trump will thank Biden for conquering that base for him. The lesson of history is that one should never ever give up land and one should never ever give up an air base!!! It is very worth while paying any price for Crimea and Odessa. Yes it’s hard now but Nikolai’s grandchildren will thank his generation for their sacrifice.

Nikolay never went to university. I always wonder what Nikolay does for a living, I thought a teacher but either no uni degree he is most likely some kind of a building site foreman. Kiril is clearly a secondary school history teacher.

spetsnaz

Lol. So true. Yekaterinburg is not just some town, though!

Russians With Attitude

It’s crazy how Nikolay, never having been abroad and not even having English in school just became super fluent in English. Imagine a random American just randomly becoming fully native in Russia while never leaving his little Pennsylvania town. Nikolay is genius level intellect and should be working for Yandex

I highly recommend this interview with Vanessa Bealey this week for informative info on the situation in Syria inc. possible Russian influne on events https://www.ukcolumn.org/syria-podcast-episode-2

I love the esoteric connections. Keep doing them!

I am still waiting for the next Russian Maria episode....

My Maternal ancestry side, is one of the J Haplo groups. I forgot which one. But my mom's ancestry is mostly Turkic and Mongolic from the steppe regions. My mom's paternal side profile is missing from the DNA test, because women can only track the MtDNA. So I have no idea what her paternal Haplo group would be. But anyway... We consider ourselves Asian/Turkic. Even though we are from Russia. But we are mixed with Slavic ancestry too. Also, yes. We are having a warrior culture. It's like ingrained in us. Even many generations later I would say. We still teach our kids to be fighters and weapons and such things. In my family we are in very much into archery and horsemanship. Even after all these generations. It's pretty important to us still. :-) Now some of my family is living in the United States. It's maybe why we choose Texas- land of cowboys and horses lol. (I don't know. ) Feels more familiar here maybe :-) .

Curious about how this affects the Russia-Iran relationship going forward

Zas

Very true re: Russian and Ukr military potential. The problem with Russian bases overseas is that they are dependent on the Diplomacy, and that wasn't Russia's strong suit in a long while.

Russians With Attitude

thank you for the much awaited great episode! its sad that syria fell, one battle is lost, but the war isnt over. russia will prevail. russia is no.1 military in the world, but kremlin must strenghten russian soft power. best greetings from austria and slava russia!

Joe Ca

The introduction of a few hundred Ukrainian drone operators forged in the fire of the Russia-Ukraine war was a big factor in smashing the Syrian army when it did try to stand its ground. It tells us something about the intense level of fighting in Ukraine. We talk about how bad the Arabs are, as a martial culture, but Ukrainians — like Russians — are the opposite. Ukrainian drone special forces cut through the Syrians like a hot knife through butter. With Russia’s large military also battle hardened by war since 2022, it should be no surprise the Syrian rebels don’t want to fuck with the small Russian contingent in Latakia/Tartus. Ukraine war will likely resolve this year in Russia’s favor. This will free up hundreds of thousands of shit hot soldiers. Will Russia make use of this unique world-beating hard power force? If it was the US or Britain with half a million super soldiers, you can be damn sure they would. Surprised RWA is so pessimistic about Russian bases overseas, or Russia losing global influence. I’d say the opposite should be true in hard power — which is what matters.

Merfy Mac

Such a positive and smiling rendering of all the terrible things happening lately. 👍⭐

Lars H

Is a Birthright travel episode more or less likely now?

david fenton

Yes Prigozhin episode!!

Z

Great stuff guys.... I'm worried about the Orthodox Christians in Syria... Any observations? They too, as well as the Alawites, were protected by the Assad set up..

Sean Gabriel

Idk that I would go so far as to say the US changed sides. Certain factions have been quite open about supporting AQ. Not to mention, it's a documented occurrence that the CIA's rebels have engaged in combat against the DoD's rebels. Absolute shit show...

Chris Hensley

Neutral. Most Russians don't really know who they are and most Kurds would pass for Armenians.

Russians With Attitude

Cryptocolonial analysis 👍👍👍

Nate

Just curious, how does Russia feel about the Kurds. Thank you for a great show!

Aurora Johnson

It is interesting how many have to lose just for Netanyaou to get a win. And now it will be easier for him to pull the US into a war with Iran of some sort. More losing for everyone coming up.

Aurora Johnson

The prison is the distraction so we ask no questions about HTS and the jihadi axis [as US likes to say] of Ukraine, Turkey, Idlib - the great US money/ weapons laundering operation. Benghazi II

Quadrille

Assad never meant to run Syria. That was his brother.

Quadrille

Well said.

Aurora Johnson

"I don't know what kind of retard you have to be to not be pro-Assad." lol <3

Aurora Johnson

Again always at the forfront regarding geopolitical events. More importantly no bullshit. RWA 💪
