20 shots of Skylar in the black box portable studio

Rough. Hard. Dark. Cold.
Those are among the first words that came to mind as we sorted, edited, enhanced, and composed the 88 images you will see here.
But how can that be? Skylar relates in so many ways that fit the “sweet and innocent” appearance she offers to her photographers, at least one painter, and other, closer, more intimate friends as well as you, the supporter and encourager of her modeling by contributing to the sales of her image sets.
Here’s how we see Skylar’s experience in this set:
Rough – is that how Skylar likes it? In fairness, it’s very difficult to balance the freshness of a shave with the recovery of the skin so necessarily abraded in that process. Here, Skylar is only barely less than totally bare. But as you consider other progression of our story, you’ll swear you could feel the sharpness when stroking against the grain.
Hard – no question that the word describes some of Skylar’s experiences, and her subsequent preferences. But what really brings that word to mind is the giant iron jack resting on her chest, her belly, her breast, and…elsewhere. And we had to keep it moving so that we didn’t leave marks that would be out of place for the rest of the session.
Dark – should we note how much brighter Skylar’s pale complexion shines in the black-box studio we portably provided? Among everything we enjoy seeing bounce, for this shoot the light was the least of them.
Cold – there are advantages to lowering the temperature, and not just because we harbor a goosebump fetish. You’ll see some of those results, and others. But later in the session, we dressed Skylar and laid her in the bright California sunshine.
