Originally watched the episode back on Wednesday but then had the busiest week with getting to NYCC on Friday (and meeting Coy! Yay!)
AnywaysâŠI am with Greg, Iâm loving Joe Locke. So much so that Iâm finally gonna get on that Heartstoppers train. lol
But dang⊠if that wasnât some white boy dancing at the mizvah! Lol
But seriously enjoying the show and I donât think I am in anyoneâs perceived demo for the show. So ha! đ
But they certainly need to bring Jen and Lillia back for whatever added trials we got left. AndâŠand I need an update on Lady DeathâŠI mean RioâŠcus why didnât we see her in the flashback at all? She was conveniently missing???
Finally, I appreciated the Bohner scene but damn it wouldâve been hilarious to have the recap from Luis!

I don't think Wanda was the one who compelled Lila to put the sigil on billy still not sure why that happened but Wanda wouldn't have been able to locate billy because of that sigil and I think on her desperation to get her kids back she focused on the ones from the multiverse since they were the only ones she could find because of I remember correctly they never showed any other universe with Tommy and Billy except the one Wanda goes to where neither that universe Wanda or her kids have any magical powers.

Never apologize for writing a long comment. We love reading em! As a CIS Man in my 40s, I can say that I have enjoyed the show quite a bit although it isn't top tier for me. There's definitely a lot to love still!
PS - I also loved the Eternals! - PLD

On rewatching, something that jumps out to me: they could have let us believe that Billyâs âtrue missionâ on the Road was Wanda, and then given us a twist by revealing it was really Tommy, and his feelings for Wanda were at best conflicted. But they didnât. So now whatâs the surprise coming?
Billy seems to have emotional memories of his (short) life in the Hex, but he didnât recognize âUncle Pâ or, apparently, âAgnesâ, so I wonder if Billy will gain access to his memories somehow? That would closely parallel Hex Visionâs gifting White Vision with access to his memories.

If Wanda had placed the sigil something kind of like that was kinda my theory tooâbut it seems unlikely sheâd abandon her âreal childrenâ for multiversal dopplegangers in Doctor Strange: MoM if she was aware they were in existence in her universe.
She tried to rationalize something to â Wong or America or Strange, I donât remember whom, it was in the Darkhold temple â about wanting to protect every universeâs Billy and Tommy where they existed. But she was obviously rationalizing. If that were truly her intentions â to do no harm â she would have looked for a universe where Billy and Tommy had been orphaned or something, not tried to steal twins from another Wanda. Realizing that her intentions had been selfish was what made her destroy the Darkhold.

I wonder if wonda was the one who transferred billy into Williams body before the hex ended and that's why wonda was using the dark hold to find him and Tommy but found multiverse billy and Tommy instead đ€

Yeah this is what I came to say as well. It makes sense she would have been there because small towns like East View and West View aren't going to have a massive police force She is probably 1 of 6 officers or so.

I totally agree with Greg- Joe Locke (Teen) is a super charming actor. Love his performance here!

You guys clearly either missed or forgot Alice's intro in episode 2. The guy who fired her from mall security mentioned her ex-lieutenant- good set up. When Alice arrived at the house, she said "I'm an ex-cop- that'll be the answer to a lot of questions." Alice was a cop in that scene because SHE WAS A COP. The writers showed Teen's connection to the whole coven- in her case, she happened to be one of the cops the Kaplans flagged down.
I'm in the Marvel demographic- I loved Wandavision- no way I'm not watching the sequel :-). And I also hope Lillia and Jen aren't dead- I'm invested with their characters, and Lillia still hasn't been the focus of a trial- we need to see her expertise on display like we did Jen and Alice

one last comment sorry lol
I know that they changed Billy a lot from the comics. As far as Iâm aware there was no possession in the comic
However there was reincarnation and time travel involved
So I find it weird that coy got so caught up on William coincidentally being named William yet in the comics the same thing happened (at least in terms of name)
This is just a theory but Iâm trying to lean into the witch and magic stuff. I think destiny and intertwined fates are gonna be a core theme (and already kind are)
Like I think part of it is just that Billy just inhabited the closest dead body he could find. Partly coincidence
But also William was already a fan of Houdini, a magician. The wizard of Oz. Alice in wonderland. Magical and fantasy stuff
It could be fate? Maybe William Kaplan was already special? Wanda for example didnât even know she was a witch until Agatha told her. She had innate abilities with no training and the hydra experiments unlocked things further
Maybe there was something drawing Billy maximoff to William Kaplan
No hate to coy though! I totally get it. If he loved this show heâs a âmarvel shillâ but if he says itâs not for him heâll also get hate
Heâs been pretty fair to the show. Hasnât said anything that bad.
Even though I disagree with him on a lot of things. It is kinda funny though because I first became a fan of coy when I saw him defending the eternals which to me is a top 5 mcu movie and I felt like I was the only one who liked it lol
I think his demographic thing is kinda right. Like anyone can watch the show
But as a queer person who loves camp, musical theatre, old movies, fantasy, and knows Joe Lockeâs acting abilities from Heartstopper, I think the show kinda inherently speaks to me and many others like me and weâre kinda willing to look past some of the flaws
Like I agree with Greg that I like the flashbacks and the time period stuff more than the normal road stuff. And I also think episode 5 was the worst episode due to the length and pacing
I do think him thinking the demographic is 17 year olds is wrong though because I think itâs more specially just queer people who are into camp and magic. My step dad said the show is kinda meh for him, but Iâm in my 20s and I know people in their 30s who love it but they are queer. And itâs not even just about representation (which has been grest already) but queer culture. Iâve legit never seen a more âqueer cultureâ show from marvel or dc or fox or any comic book medium.
âFriends of Dorothyâ is a term to describe gay people due to the wizard of Oz being so loved in the community and Judy garland being a massive supporter. so I think culturally this show is very important to me. Judy Garland has been called the âElvis of homosexualsâ for reference lol
Sorry for the long paragraph. I think coy is spot on that itâs not for everybody. But I think heâs just missing the why. why so many people are flocking to this show who arenât even normally marvel fans
Cause a lot of the comparions from trailers has been that it feels like a Disney channel original. Which at times is true. But I donât think itâs as simple as âitâs a show for teens and Iâm not a teenâ.
However any hate coy is getting is dumb
Love you guysâs reactions keep it up! Iâm a fan of the reel rejects for many reasons but one of the main ones is your open mind and the fact you havenât gone down the right wing anti woke pipeline that many YouTubers are pivoting to

Alice was established to be ex cop in episode 2. We found her working as a security guard which is cop adjacent and they say she was dismissed from the force. The flashback scene where sheâs the cop is 3 years before the start of this show
The show isnât throwing random stuff out. Theyâre keeping established continuity
As to why she was the cop that happened to help him. We donât know. Big coincidence or I like to see it as some sort of fate/destiny thing
Because Billy encountered 3 of the witches in his life at some point.
Been loving your reactions overall!
i guess I could be wrong since the show isnât over but Iâm assuming the flashback was 100% real and had nothing altered or magic about it. Alice just was a cop

You were making jokes throughout the entire Evan Peters part so yes you did miss something lol
Ralph told him that Agatha is still in westview but acting very weird. He didnât say spell but he described what sheâs like so Billy put two and two together

Amusingly to me, âqueer Jewish witchesâ actually in real life have been a pretty vibrant sub-community in neopaganism since the 1970âs. The late NPR reporter (and Jewish witch) Margot Adler wrote a book (Drawing Down the Moon) that had whole chapters on semitic neopaganism, queer paganism, Unitarian Universalist paganism, etc. (And yes, they're called âwitchesâ regardless of gender.)
I also appreciate that they made it clear Billyâs bar mitzvah was at a progressive (probably Reform) synagogue; it correctly contextualized the cultural intersections involved.

Well, since I do a watch with my husband and then a rewatch here (and with Agatha and WandaVision itâs turned into multiple rewatches since other reactors I support also have watch-alongs), my husband keeps me reminded that I recall a LOT more detail than most viewers will from sheer repetition.
I think the pacing of this episode would work a lot better for those who had little or no familiarity with WandaVision. They clearly felt they had to make the episode accessible to folks starting with Agatha. So in this case at least, it is âdemographicâ, just not the demographics previously discussed. ;-)

This whole discussion was hilarious to me since it seems like something the show predicted, as it went to great lengths to specifically mention she was a cop several times in episode 2. Hah.

On another thing that seemed to cause some confusion â how Billy could know about Agatha being under Wandaâs spell â it was part of Ralph/Bohnerâs patter in the parking garage: he told Billy she was still under the spell acting like a Westview native â âsourdough starter, casseroles, etc.â.

To clear up Alice Wu-Gulliverâs appearance here, just quoting her: âIâm an ex-cop; thatâll be the answer to a lot of questions.â
In episode 2, her mall security guard boss said he had hired her on the recommendation of her old âlieutenantâ, and later when she shows up at the coven party and Billy asks how she knew where to come since he didnât give her Agathaâs address, she says the line about being an ex-cop.
Earlier in episode 2 when Agatha and Billy are discussing covens, Billy mentions a strong but mysterious mystical connection coven members share, so if Billyâs a member of the coven, that would give another reason for all the gang to show up in his life (well, William Kaplanâs life, anyway) before the sigil (at which point theyâd all forget him).
And to complete the story: when they recruit Jen, Billy mentions that heâd already been following her on socials for help with his skin care routine. It sounded at the time like a quick lie to ingratiate himself to Jen, but â as we see when he shows his laptop to âboyfâ â was the literal truth.

I feel you Coy, last episode was just not enough for me. I think part of that was definitely because of its super short runtime. But I enjoyed this one a lot more. Loved the set up and experiencing Billy's life as William. It gave me a taste of a new character dealing with their powers that we honestly haven't really experienced in a long while. Thanks to episode fives' really short run time, I am slightly worried that the next three episodes will have another short one in there. And if it does, I am not sure the show will land in a satisfying way. But I'm crossing my fingers that things will land in the back half now that things are revealed. Also hoping those witches aren't dead cause come on! I was starting to get invested đ
