This has to be one of Cassie's funniest jump scares! With the spider at 12:43. I feel kinda bad for laughing....kinda. Sorry, Cassie! :)

bgb1975 (Brian)

Sidney is Niv Campbell ( Party of five etc ) a fellow Canadian from Guelph Ontario. 🇨🇦 I am old but how do not get Barney Fith reference Andy Griffith still on old 60s sitcom, What I do like is the humor and the Villian always repeating gets Beat by the main female Herion . Similar to Nightmare on Elm Street.

Tim C

sorry meant Wes Craven, I just re-watched "The Thing"...

Paul Stelter

Still undecided as to which I like more: "Scream 1" is John Carpenter's self-deprecating tongue-in-cheek homage to the modern slasher genre he helped pioneer, while "Scream 2" -- way more explicitly than Paul Verhoeven does in "Robocop" and "Starship Troopers" -- is an indictment of the violence-loving public that keeps the industry cranking out the slashers. Either way, it's now time to put "Scary Movie" on the schedule. :)

+ 1 for “The Andy Griffith Show”. Free on Prime if subscribed. My guess is she and her kids would like it. I think her age is the No. 1 reason she doesn't know the show or who is Barny Fife.

Clay F

“Who is Barney Fife”???!! How could any adult in the U. S. not know who Barney Fife is? Oh! You’re Canadian; maybe that explains it.  Seriously, you should watch “The Andy Griffith Show”. Not for the channel (too many episodes) but for your own edification and enjoyment. The show premiered in Oct. 1960 and, I think it’s a safe bet to say that it has been on the air ever since, either as the original show or in syndication on one channel or another. I’m sure if you searched the streaming services you could find it; probably HULU, Prime, or Paramount. It would be worth your time to check it out. It’s set in a small, southern town where Andy is the sheriff and Barney Fife is his deputy. Barney is a small, nervous guy who makes up for his inequities by bluster & bluff. Andy only allows him one bullet for his gun and makes him carry it in his shirt pocket. Andy is the star but it’s the cast of “characters” in the town that makes the show great. The episodes are only 30 min. long and I guarantee if you watch it you’ll enjoy it (and your kids probably will too) As a bonus, Ron Howard, who directed “Splash”, “Backdraft”, “Far & Away”, “Apollo 13”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Cinderella Man”, etc. plays Andy’s son and is only around 5 years old in the first season

Wayne McKinney

You know you give off sorority vibes, right?

Scream 2 YT views 36k after 1 day. My guess is Scream 3 would be even worse.

Clay F

She’s seen The Goonies, but it was pre-channel.

Us Michigan State don’t have a lot like your team does, but our players starts our walk to the stadium from a hotel, past the Spartan statue, and then into the tunnel into the locker room in suits and ties. Before we kickoff, the announcer would announce the game’s weather and no matter what it is, he’ll say “It’s a Beautiful Day for Football!” Our mascot will come out during the marching band performance and plant the flag at the 50 and do one handed pushups. Our team runs out to Thunderstruck by AC/DC. In the past, there used to be a video showing the Spartan statue coming to life and strike down the opponent’s logo (while the song was playing). During halftime, we have a dog called “Zeke the Wonder Dog” who catches frisbees. So there’s our “traditions”. It might not be like yours, but they are our traditions.

Over in the Extra Butter Community thread several college football fans (of which I am one) have been commiserating/bragging about this weekend’s results. I wanted to post this message there, but it was too long (once again, I miss the FAQ/general chat thread) so I thought I’d drop it here. I grew up a college football fan, specifically a Tennessee Volunteers fan but also all of college football. Like many college football fans, one of the biggest things I love about the sport is the pageantry and traditions. A few of the Volunteers traditions include: *The Vol Walk to the stadium on Saturday (fans line the route as the team walks to the stadium, offering encouragement) *”Sailgating” - boat owners (the Vol Navy) sail up to Neyland Stadium to tailgate in their boats (the stadium is right next to the Tennessee River) *The checkerboard end zones and apparel *Recitation of General Neyland’s seven game maxims *Singing/listening to “Rocky Top” *Painting The Rock *Team runs thru the power T formed by the band at home games *Beer Barrel Game (winner of Kentucky game keeps the barrel until following year’s game - discontinued in late 90s) *Smoky, the team’s blue tick hound mascot More recent additions: *Checkerboarding the stadium (fans in alternating sections wear orange or white) *Black out for home game in late October (played at night, black uniforms, dark stadium, orange fireworks, spooky theme) There are others, but I forget them all. I’d love to hear some of the traditions held dear by fellow college football enthusiasts.

Just realized she has not seen The Goonies yet. Would be a great scary but not too scary for her and Carley.

Brian Wood

That’s not possible. Carly would expire in anticipation of the opening credits.

Richard Maurer

5 days since Cassie posted a new movie. I believe she watched Blair Witch last night and expired. Or she managed to rope Carly in to watching it and Carly expired during the opening credits.

Clarence Newman

R.I.P. I always think of her in The Godfather.

Clay F

I’m thinking Sleeper (1973)

🏁 🎥 🎸 💔

Would love a Diane Keaton poll, RIP. She has some amazing movies.

Nick Ireland

Duel was a special case...but I don't see any other made for TV films getting on the channel except as PAF winners. Maybe "The Day After" (1983) has a chance to place high on a poll...hard to say.

Joe J

I'm on a poll suggestion trip: Inspired by "DUEL", here's a wee list of made-for-tv movies that are definitely worth a watch: Brian's Song (1971) - True story of the relationship between Hall of Fame running back Gale Sayers and teammate Brian Piccolo. James Caan and Billy Dee Williams star. The Burning Bed (1984) - The movie that proved Farrah Fawcett could actually act. Flight 90: Disaster on the Potomac (1984) - True story about a plane that crashed into the Potomac river in 1982. Real footage mixed in with the dramatisation makes for a nail-biting ride. And The Band Played On (1993) - Story of the discovery of the AIDS epidemic, and the scientific community's subsequent infighting. Stars Matthew Modine and Alan Alda. Indictment: The McMartin Trial aka The Mike Lemon Pick-a-Flick Till The End of All Days (1995) - Absorbing courtroom drama about alleged child abuse. James Woods is superb. Gia (1998) - A young Angelina Jolie plays Gia Carangi - top fashion model from the 1970s. You Don't Know Jack (2010) - Al Pacino stars as Jack Kevorkian, advocate for doctor-assisted suicides for the terminally ill. Behind The Candelabra (2013) - Liberace's relationship with his young lover. Stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. Don't know if they're right for the channel, but if you love films, these are all worth a look.

Clarence Newman

Yep, and we still haven’t had Loaded Weapon 1

Mark White

Cassie has to see Scary Movie now, if only so I can see that scene where Carmen Electra runs through the sprinklers. As Chandler Bing (almost) once said: "This is the brilliance of the show. Always keep them running. All the time, running. Run.......run.......run, Carmen, run like the wind!"

Clarence Newman

The way she threw it on the floor cracked me up.

Chris Thom

God bless that spider😂😂 Cassie he is now your official sidekick! I’m not a fan of the Scream Franchise, but you always seam to elevate a movie. Great reaction Cassie +1 for “Spider of doom” 2025! 😉😂

Mark White

Good family entertainment. I loved that show as a kid. The Andy Griffith Show was a top 10 hit through its entire run, never ranking lower than 7th place in the Nielsen rating, ending its final season in 1st place. The only other shows to end their runs at the top of the ratings are I Love Lucy (1957) and Seinfeld (1998). On separate occasions, ranked by TV Guide as the 9th- and 13th-best series in American television history.

Clay F

Its "free" on Youtube https://youtu.be/FBSLzOLgOHI

Arturo

Cassie must watch Helen of Troy (2003) Diferent from Troy with Brad Pit but more like the original story and had the Casandra story from the play.

Arturo

"Who is Barney Fife?" broke my heart... seriously if there was ever ANYONE in today's day and age that The Andy Griffin Show was MADE for, it's Cassie.

Story Archer

I'd never heard this term before but you're right Not my style but plenty of people love it regardless of gender

John Sullivan

Still my favorite sitcom of all time.

Just Plain Bob

you have to watch The Andy Griffith show then you’ll understand who Barney is

Doc Larry/old geezer

The Scream movies (at least the original trilogy) are as much gialli as they are slashers. That’s to be expected to some extent, since the two genres are first cousins, if not paternal twins. The Scream films have a heavy dose of mystery - who is the killer? Same with the standard giallo. The reveal of the killer frequently makes little sense in a giallo; trying to figure it out is an exercise in futility. Same with the Scream movies. (These aren’t Agatha Christie mysteries, after all, where you’re supplied with all the clues you need if you just put them together right.). The killer in a typical giallo wears black gloves and is shot in such a way as to make it impossible to determine gender. In Scream, they substitute a pair of unisex black boots for the gloves, but it’s the same principle. And there is an emphasis on the murder set pieces (though most gialli are more creative than the Scream movies in this regard). If anyone that reads this is interested, I’d recommend the following gialli for first timers: *Blood and Black Lace (1964) - directed by Mario Bava *The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970) - Dario Argento *A Bay of Blood (1971) - directed by Mario Bava (heavily influenced Friday the 13th) *Black Belly of the Tarantula (1971) - directed by Paolo Cavara *Deep Red (1975) - directed by Dario Argento *Tenebre (1982) - Dario Argento *Stage Fright (1987) - directed by Michele Soavi (like Scream 2, the murders happen in/around a stage play setting) PS: Did anyone else notice that Cassie referred to viewing videos of homicide scenes as reviewing the “game tapes”? Young lady’s developing a bit of a morbid view of these proceedings. 😂

Just Plain Bob

I'm 99% percent sure you already know this, but in case you ever go back and rewatch Scream 1, there's a funny bit of trivia in the end credits. So check it out if you skipped them the first time.

GM

I'd like to see Cassie watch the entire series!

Cory H

I don't know if it was a stunt man under the Ghostface mask and outfit, but whoever it was did a good job with the creepy movements. Especially in the chase scene with Gale.

Chris Thom

Omg please 🙏

KyloJames

So… „Scary Movie“ next? 😀

Sascha Kummer

Scream 2: Sneak Attack of the Pipe Cleaner Tentacles

Chris Thom

Jada Pinkett Smith playing herself I see.

Brian McGovern

I’d be terrified as well if a massive Ghostface mask appeared behind me. Edit: It was the Spider all along 😂
