For the last step by step of 2017, I show you an unsual stage, very important for the final rendering: the mix & balance between the raw final scan & the finished piece.
As I scan myself with a classic flat scanner device, I got poor quality regarding the hard work on the paper: the light disrupt the black graphite & I often get blank spaces where there's none on the physical drawing. I can't explain to you how much that pissed me off during the first pages! BUT I managed to find a solution: I scan again rotating the drawing 180° and then mix them both in Photoshop, performing a new 180° and I try to manually make them match in a blend layer mix. It's not clear but let's say it does the trick, as far as I can go with it.
Anyway, so here, for the first time, you see that, hehe!
It was cool to have a smooth body for once, but I kinda missed the hair! The long part was the jungle background, but I got used to it.
I see you next year with the last 3 pages & lots of news & surprises :-) Have some wonderful new year celebrations!
