It's Been a Fun Ride...

But unfortunately, all rides need to end sometime.  I'm sorry to say that I've made the decision to stop writing as CJ McCormick.

I know this will probably be a shock and come seemingly out of the blue.  I've been struggling with this for the past couple months and I can't ignore the obvious any longer.

CJ McCormick as a business model has failed.  I have no one to blame for that other than myself.  I had hoped at one point that I could turn my writing into a little empire, carving out a comfortable living and having fun doing it.  I started doing this without any experience, and I thought that if I just wrote what I loved, the money would follow.

I can't tell you how many mistakes I've made along the way.  Probably all the mistakes in the book.  Just because I might be able to put out a decent story, it doesn't mean that I can successfully manage a business in this cutthroat industry.

Now I have to face facts.  I'm losing readership and losing patrons.  My books are not selling like I wanted them to on Amazon.  I have long since stopped growing and now I'm looking at terminal decline.

It probably sounds like I'm being pretty dramatic and maybe you're right.  CJ has been a big portion of my life for the past five years.  I never thought I'd see this day come but now it has.  Saying goodbye to it is like saying goodbye to an old friend at this point, and I'm taking it hard.

I'm not going to get into the mistakes that I made.  We would be here for some time for me to list them all.  I'm also not going to stop writing.  My decision to shut down CJ was coupled with an opening that has allowed me to pursue another path.  I've had a great opportunity put in my lap to work with another established author in the harem space (I can't tell you who right now as per my contact).  But I'm hopeful for the future.

Into this new partnership, I'm bringing some of my stories with me.  Starfinder and My Four Girlfriends are definitely coming.  This means that there will be no published versions of Starfinder coming out, at least not in its current form.  I have also removed My Four Girlfriends from Amazon as well.

I'm still on the fence about Argive and Big Dick Diplomacy.  All my other stories will remain as they are, on Literotica and Stories Online.

If you guys are angry or upset with me, I understand.  My goal has never been to disappoint you but this new deal has allowed me the chance that I've been thinking about for the past few months.

The chance to start over and do things the right way this time, without the baggage of the past.

As for now, there will be no more works released here on Patreon.  I would suggest unsubscribing at this point, to save yourself some money.  I know we could all use some extra money in our pockets with the way things are these days.

If you're in the lower tiers and haven't yet reached the ending of Origins, I will open everything up next Friday so that you can read the rest of the story.

If you do decide to stay, I'm going to take it that you want to support me in my next venture.  If you stay, I'll share news when I can.  I will get to the point where I can share my new pen name and point you to my new stories but that might be a few months away.

Other than that, it's been a really fun time.  I can't tell you how thankful I am to all of you, those that helped me live my dream during the past five years.  I can't even type this right now without getting a little choked up.  I appreciate every single one of you, and I'm grateful for the chance to have met you.

For now though, this is me signing off as CJ for the last time.

Thank you all,

-Chris

Sorry things didn't work out, and I respect your decision. I very much enjoyed The Fourth Vector, but The Argive and Starfinder just didn't suit my tastes, and I wish that I could tell you why.
