The end of development resulted in the standard Barbiturate Rifle. lighter but less durable than the old BDR, the SBR failed some of the field trials also. Exposed to water, dirt and sand the firing mechanism jams and is not easy to rectify.
Instead of a central gas canister each polymer shell contains a binary gas emitter chemical which is enough to fire 15 rounds each magazine holds 10 plus 150 pellets. 
An electronic server control's the ammo feed and is prone to failure.
