The creative origin of the Azologoth.

The name is a take of Lovecrafts Azahoth...(if you haven't figured out).
The creature is a metaphor. I do not believe you can create without some background supporting the story line.
Black Faction and CPD are companies, their only purpose is making money. The Combat units are cogs in the machine, disposable in the process of making money.
Like a real company, they control what the employees do, where they spend their time, what they wear, how they think, how they act....all generally against their will.
The companies are the evil in the neon dark world, so long as you serve them you are a part of evil.
The Azologoth are terrifying, pits of perceived despair where you suffer a horrific death wrapped in tentacles.
But as we know, once the girls are consumed, they enter the ultimate lucid dream of fantasy beyond measure.
The companies extract Neon Dark from the creature, as one would extract profit from fear & uncertainty....
But when the strange is no longer strange & something new that was once terrifying has wrapped its tentacles around you & you're in bliss.
Because in this world, falling into line, standing on team this or team that, you will die.
