Test Subject

A small company developed a new defense system for their operation. Their business practice is mixed, but generally consists of infrastructure & temporary installations mainly electronics. 

They were attacked by a hostile force of marauders & need to be able to defend themselves. 

During the attack the staff locked themselves in a safe room while the marauders stole millions of credits worth of equipment.

Thankfully none of their staff were hurt in the attack. They did pay for an emergency deployment of Sublets which chased the marauders off. Black Faction did not capture or eliminate any of the marauders but did expend 6 sublets.

So the company developed a new defense system, a plasma auto turret. 

The system fires a thin beam of super cooled gas at super sonic speed. The beam is less than 1mm thick but once it penetrates the skin super sonic gas molecules scatter inside the body, severing nerves, blood vessels and organs. The gas remains cold, rapidly cooling the body which drops the target rather quickly. 

It was theorized initially to deal with Azologoth but was shelved as the system was too large to carry by hand. 

They needed to prove the weapons system on a live target, so rather than wait for an attack they decided to hire a single sublet in the most basic configuration. 

Black Faction supplied the unit & she was dropped off to the base.

"State your number, age, rank, number of years service"

"228941 , 24, Standard Unit configured Sublet, 6 years ma am"

"Good, we have turned your ORC control off now, you are free to do as you wish, how do you feel now"

"I feel ok I guess, why did you turn it off? I dont like it here with it off, I feel naked without it can you please switch it back on?"

"No we need you to be of totally free will for this test, tell us how many people have you killed?"

"ok but after this please switch it back on.....I have eliminated 8 enemy units"

"ok so you killed 8 people just for wearing a different colored leotard and mask to you?"

"yes if thats what you want to call it...it was them or me, what the fuck are we doing here? are we getting into action or not?"

"ok if you are that eager, but first please admit to me that you are not innocent"

"what are you talking about innocent? what do you mean innocent? I have not done anything wrong ever?

"surely you know that being a gun for hire is evil, you killed people for your companies profits, you are a killer are you not?"

" I am a professional mercenary, they pay, I fight, if I need to kill I need to kill!"

"So that makes you not innocent then doesn't it?"

"If you say so then yes, I kill & I enjoy it sometimes"

"excellent, turn around, proceed through that door, it will shut behind you & we will give you your orders" 

The Sublet walks through the door, as she passes through the door slams behind her>

"What the fuck is going on?" she shouts, with her BDX up ready to fire

"You are a test subject for our new weapons system, its a defense system designed to engage marauders. Its here to protect us, protect us from people like you, from killers, from cold blooded mercenaries".

"you hired me just to shoot me with some test weapon? What kind of sick fucks are you? "

"are you telling me you don't deserve this?"

"what???? is this going to eliminate me?"

"yes! we told your employer, they were fine with us taking you out with a test weapon, in fact Commander Ana Dark said we could and please send back your boots & weapon"

"what the fuck, this can't be happening, you cant kill me"
