The Azologoth Economy

The Azologoth is the economic center of the conflict in Mallera-9. Without the creatures there would be no Neon-Dark & without Neon Dark there would be no conflict. 

The price of Neon Dark is insane & the task to obtain it is very expensive. Part of the cost comes down to the sheer scale of what needs to be done to obtain it, but the majority is demand driven, demand for energy and what the mistress or Caterina demand for a price.

Azologoth are the most valuable beings on Mallera-9. Each discovery is a chance for each company to make billions of Credits. Exploration is carried out to find Azologoth and holding territory is important in maintaining Neon Dark Supply.

All of the infrastructure, command structure, combat units, training, vehicles, weapons everything that each company does has the sole aim of sending a woman down into the pit of the creature to extract Neon Dark.

The Azologoth appears at random throughout areas known as "clusters" it forms a fleshy tube which extends between 3ft (mini) to over 100ft (mega) deep and anywhere from 1ft in diameter to hundreds of feet across. 

It is now known that they pulsate their victims through a capillary like network into underground sacks. Unless the victim is immediately assimilated, which to the best knowledge, is the victim absorbing into flesh wall whole, disintegrating in seconds.

Tentacles grab the victim to pull from the outside into the esophagus, where by force of gravity, tentacle or pulsation the victim is drawn to the MAW.  The MAW is a sphincter like opening which controls entry into what is known only as the abyss. 

Tentacles reach up from the MAW, pulling the victim into it, the MAW squeezes extremely tight onto the body, below the opening is full of high viscosity liquid which the victim is pulled into, with her arms and legs tightly pinned, the victim is dragged while drowning in the liquid.

The liquid is aspirated by the victim and swallowed. Within the liquid are powerful hallucinogens which quickly turn the victims terror into a state of pure bliss. Also within the liquid are microbial flora which convert carbon in the victims blood to oxygen. 

The Victim is for a better word, in heaven.
