HAU Deployment Demise. Black Factions Combat Failurere
Added 2020-03-11 08:53:15 +0000 UTCThe HAU was intended to be the heavy hitter of Black Faction, equipped with Gas Masks to deploy toxic gas to defeat multiple enemy units.
The idea was dreamed up by higher ups, unaware of the nature of combat in the zone.
Most operations take place in the concrete shells of the old facilities left over by the experiment. It is extremely hot, humid, dark and disorienting.
The masks fog up frequently reducing vision and the glass lenses reduce peripheral visibility.
While having large weapons able to deliver massive damage, it is no good if they cannot see the enemy.
Fitting of the masks is slow, and their gas cell needs to be small enough to fit in their back pack giving them about 3 hours between changes.
Wearing the masks for extended periods is extremely uncomfortable, as one command unit found out trialing it out in the heat. (no combat units would ever complain).
So they began to deploy them with supplementary sublets combat units or standard combat units however if they deployed the gas the supplementary units would be taken out.
With no where to really utilize them properly, losing equipment all of the time, black faction has committed to deploying them only against Azologoth for extraction.
