Caterinas Force Overhaul

Caterina was a former Scientist who entered the Zone early in the piece, moving into collect data on the mysterious creatures called the Azologoth........now as the second largest operator she is now employing her skills in statistics to improve her forces effectiveness. 

After the complete standardisation of her forces by  her New Advisory Command Unit she was curious about partitioning her forces some how still.

Caterina is more actively involved with her combat forces than The Mistress and is far more cruel in her application of them.

Caterina however is about efficiency and she wants the right ones to live and the right ones to expend. 

Cognitive Testing

CPD units are first fitness tested & after passing they are sent to one of their training centres, normally the main one is on an old oil rig sitting off the coast of Mallera-9.

Cognitive testing is conducted there, with scores determining roles but if there is a shortfall in operational combat units all will be funnelled into that role. 

Those who score particularly high are usually funnelled into command type roles quite fast, those in the low to lower high range are funnelled into the combat ranks and the lower end of the spectrum are placed into reserve units or guard duties. 

The same tests has been conducted for the past 8 years at CPD & records were reviewed from long serving units aswell as new units.

Based off the results the units are placed into two categories. MC1 & MC2

MC2 being the top 20% of Cognitive scores on all combat performance measures.

The other 80% fall into MC1.

The Data Analysis Summary

In the retrospective analysis conducted it was found that the Category MC2 accounted for over 90 percent of Enemy Kills where as the Category MC1 accounted for 10%. 

With expenditure it was found that out of a 20% chance of being taken out in first contract, 95% of those fell into the MC1 category while only 5% were from MC2. 

Forward Usage 

To Caterinas non combat managers, this was clear to them that they only should hire MC2 category units and eject the MC1 category ones as unsuitable. 

However Caterina knows this is not practical. 

Force projection requires large amounts of strategically placed bodies to hold territory. Having hundreds of women strapped in red with weapons on a base is enough to warn off Black Faction from attacking, no matter how capable they are. 

Efficient use of high quality units requires the combined application with poor quality units in many attack situations. 

Capturing sites or blocking enemy movements/shipments requires speed

Speed requires fast fighting

Fast fighting means lots of fast expending

Someone needs to to the expending, in that they expend themselves

So with the full uniform standardisation, they cannot tell themselves apart, they do not know if they are MC1 or MC2, the enemy does not know either.
