Origins of the Sublet Program

A short sharp recruitment drive was established & their numbers returned to more manageable levels.
Alot of experienced combat units were offered more money to stay on for shorter contracts with alot of them taking the opportunity as fighting had died down.
Also at this point much of the non combat , non neon dark extraction roles were contracted out to smaller operators.
As CPD and Zuvic began to replenish their ranks, the fighting began to pick up once more.
But more small scale running skirmishes, many of which was directed at the smaller operators.
Initially security was provided by Black Faction Standard Combat Units, but with many of the sites being relatively safe, it was doing nothing but tying up resources.
With some of the older units awaiting large payouts all within a short period of each other there was consensus amongst command to attempt to retain some of them for experience but also to save money.
The bite of paying close to 10 million Credit to units who had served 12 years plus an extra two at double rate was going bite, especially when there was over 1000 of them.
Initially some were retrained to vehicle operators, although many did not take the offer.
Quad pay was offered to those who would attempt Elite selection & training however only a few took the offer.
quite a few were offered Chamber guard roles with un locked contracts, however still only a dozen or so took that offer.
Command displayed concern that long serving units would in fact, move to another company and disclose information, and that a good number of these long term units must be expended for security purposes.
It was against company policy to simply off a unit at will, increased danger is an option.
But there was a way not only to save money , but also make money from the expenditure.
Sub-letting of combat units was suggested, with a new uniform and configurable weapons for the client.
How to get clients? With draw security from smaller operator sites and tell them to pay.
Lightly armed, no command and control, no support and always out numbered. The sublet program is the perfect method in expending liable assets.
