Why did Kader Zuvic Choose Elites over Expendables

Prior to commencing their operation into the Zone that would be known as the Zuvic Incursion, Kader Zuvic analysed the inventory she had been sending to both CPD and BFC prior to get an idea of what the approximate turnover would be of her forces.

Boots, gloves, weapons, equipment, transport were largely supplied by Zuvic Tech and td the data proved valuable to an extent.

It was clear that the cheaper gear had a much higher turnover than the more expensive gear.

In the past Kader Zuvic had also provided bespoke training to new recruits during high turnover periods for CPD.

The training curriculum & courses were geared more towards physical fitness & basic tactics, with little combat skills.

This indicated to Kader Zuvic that the Units fielded by CPD at the time were intended to be used in large scale attacks or static defensive positions.

Zuvics would be able to train & equip large numbers of these forces however the key is establishing bases of operations within the zone....most of the suitable sites were already occupied by BFC or CPD.

Its one thing having plenty of Units, its another to supply, feed, store them but most importantly operate from.

Hiring former BFC Elite Units, Kader began to put together an elite contingent of Combat Units.

Her rational was to enter the zone with a large base (the floating facility) land it in a hard to reach area & launch azologoth extraction missions along with attacks from there.

The Zuvic Elite & Assault units would be the primary force.

However the talent pool for elite units is not limitless. There are hoards of young fit women across all economic zones but those with the higher level of fitness and cognitive ability are hard to come by.

The Former BFC Elites advising her pushed the notion towards holding at least 2 to 3 "expendable" type units per Elite Unit.

Elites are not suited to guard areas on static duty, it is a waste of resources. Expensive gear, months of training and investment & they are difficult to replace.

A simple, lightly armed, lightly equipped combat unit who has done the minimum training & can be replaced easily & quickly is far more suited to the role.

So in the case of an infiltrator or sudden attack, the static sentry can be expended with minimum financial and operation loss to the company.

The BFC unit also stressed the need for "extraction sacrifice" where as during operations where a squad of elites were in trouble, a 3 to one squad of highly expendable units would be deployed to assist.

Basically the if there was 3 elites under heavy fire, a transport would rapidly deploy 9 Standard Combat Units to the area, the elites would board the transport and the Standards would fight until they were expended to cover the extraction.

Kader was not in favour of this but when the economics made sense she implemented a similar strategy to her operational doctrine.

When the attack on her facility occurred, Kader observed footage and found while the fighting was fast, brutal & insane, her Elites managed to chew out a higher kill ration than the expendable units she had deployed.

The expendable units were merely being shot up as loose targets in the chaos within the corridors, whereas the elites maintained tactical advantages & manoeuvring over the BFC invaders, blitzing squad after squad.

From her analysis she concluded while having expendable units is advantageous to resource planning, the heavy combat lifting for her business model of rapid fast incursion should be left to elite forces.
