Originally Ana wanted to wear less, she is a proud fit woman & works very hard on her body & wanted to reveal more but keep in line with the Neon Dark Aesthetic.
Impractical as this would be, I second guess my assumption as you look at other aspects of society that demand a high performance from women in a much similar way.
Beach Volley Ball......this is casual observation too. If this breaks a fantasy or may break it stop reading. However if you are interested in exploring themes of - human commodification then continue on.
It is a central theme of this I wanted to develop, dehumanise people. Which corporations do and remove their individuality. Make certain particulars to be able to participate. ect ect
Onto sport, mainly beach volley ball.
To preface, I have been involved in sports, more the performance side, but psychology comes into it alot.
A notion that was not much explored was the impact of performance that what you wear may have outside the bounds of sheer athleticism.
Psychology plays an immense role in sport, as much as physicality. So when they began to introduce women's beach volley ball the uniforms gradually became tinier and tinier.
Myself is an avid admirer of female form, however female performance is of much higher value to my interest than aesthetics.
While the sport is exciting for me, both men's and women's, the women's was distracting.
the power and performance team work and aggression combined with those uniforms was a little too much to bear.
So when talking to people I know involved in the sport, mainly the sports performance side, they were quick to note that the reasoning was for ratings.
Essentially commodifying the flesh of the athlete to gain higher rankings, therefor flesh out advertising and prime time coverage. Because men would prefer to watch.
Now the chamber guards uniform could have a variety of reasons to be in such a way.
But considering this. would it be to further commodify the person or make them feel vulnerable?
Is it a power play by the higher ups?
