CPD Woes of the past Year

Much of the focus has been on the internal workings of Black Faction 

However as it seemed CPD to be a growing power with the alliance they were going through a period of high unit turnover.....losses. 

Vanessa's plan to capture and eliminate commanders was successful and pushed CPD into a corner where they had to infiltrate the Black Faction ranks for supplies of combat units.

Where Vanessa outed Kandi as an insider, this revealed the larger scope of the predicament that CPD was in and just how close they were to collapse. 

The internal fighting with "compromised" units in Black Faction allowed some breathing room for CPD to recover, recruit and train further units. 

However this all began before Vanessa's implementation of "The Plan" where CPD attacked the Sector Vanessa was in control of to attempt to recover the Case with the Sugar Device. 

It was a massive raid by CPD involving over 3 Sections (close to 3000 units) against 900 defending Black Faction Units who the Mistress deemed as "expendable" and were to fight until expenditure in an effort to tie up the invading CPD forces. 

Vanessa's escape with the device was a close call as the elite CPD and KTS units had penetrated deep into the facility. But she managed to slip out onto a transport back to HQ where the rest of her Sector fought on until the very end. 

The resulting skirm was one of the largest in recent Mallera-9 history, with all 900 plus BFC combat Units, Admin and Support Staff being expended along with 1985 CPD Combat units, 26 KTS Units and 58 Zuvic elites.

The damage to CPD's forces was significant as Caterina had insisted on the cream of the crop initiating the raid. Most of whom were decimated in the tight corridors by hails of SBR rounds from the defenders, who comprised mostly of Standard Combat Units with very little combat experience. 

The Mistress not only wanted the Device safe in her hands, but personally wanted a toast in the form of a sacrifice to watch her units perish for it, dragging Catarina's women into the abyss with them. 

Caterina could not afford such a hefty bill for no return. As her best Combat Units litter the Black Faction Base, no longer usable - she had a large shortfall to deal with and once Vanessa started to attack her Command Structure, things began to deteriorate.
