Journey to Shadow Sector

Joining Black Faction, or any Company in the Zone is a slippery slope into the Abyss.

The promise of money and an easy life post contract term pushes a lot in.

The prospect of being expended, consumed or sinking to the depths in liquid earth are not enough to deter many a fit young woman.

We come to this Combat Unit. Relatively un-remarkable by broader company standards.

Joining at age 19, completing two consecutive contract terms wrapping up a well off wealthy young woman at 27 she left Mallera-9.

Unable to adjust to a normal life of study afterwards, she knows if she can tough out another two consecutive contracts she can set herself up for a life on the beach. No work, no study.

But deep down she cant leave now. She is drilled, her very being is a combat unit.

The Mistresses head hunters identify this among other traits……

The other traits they look for are their exposure to skirms.

This combat unit had seen quite a bit of skirms, the largest scale being a periphery battle during the Mallera Deep operation where she was a part of a Black Faction task force that intercepted CPD reserves. The battle didn’t result in a win or loss, rather just heavy losses on both sides with CPD redirecting  their movements elsewhere.

During the Apex wars her rotunda was in multiple resupplies to Jaydas forces.

Further back, she was simply on static guard at her sector during the Zuvic incursion and was not brought to a higher level of alert.

During the Privateer era she participated in multiple small scale skirms in defense of contractor interests.

In total she scored 2 solo eliminations, however during larger actions her shared eliminations are in the dozens…….the problem with operating with other combatants is you have to share the kills.

When offered the chance to join shadow sector, with the terms laid out she took it without a second thought.

The early configuration for Shadow sector was infiltrator outfits, she did participate in some of the Mistresses “whack” jobs on contractors and other interests but mainly as an outer support unit while the elites conducted the actual operations.

The New post CPD objectives were presented to the Shadow Sector Caches and volunteers were requested to step forward for config testing.

The Shadow sector units were to attempt a routing of Ana Darks old sector commander (Ana Dark joined Shadow Sector as an Aux Unit).

Prior to embarking on the test mission, she was asked why she volunteered where she answered “I just want to get in the action, I don’t care what I do or what happens”. And “I cant wait to gun down some combatants, I don’t care who they are”.

Seemingly not worried about eliminating her old comrades, a body is a body.

What happened to her?

She engaged with an outer patrol with the test equipment on. A new HAU Gas Kit, she did nail one Unit however she was hit with a single round in the bag strap, not lethal but it knocked her backwards where she fell straight into Liquid earth sinking in fast.

She was fitted with a locational tracker with vitals which showed her active and operational for 9 hours after falling in…….the locational data indicated she had sunk 1800ft below the surface…..her gas kit keeping her operational until something pulled I off, probably the liquefier
