Early Shadow Sector Unit
Added 2022-04-01 12:07:07 +0000 UTCIn the initial stages of setting up Shadow Sector, the Mistress needed to set up parameters for recruitment, a strategy around recruitment and also how to configure the units.
The equipment could be taken with the unit from their respective sector and not be traceable to the Shadow Sector.
The unit itself would be classed as re-assigned to “special” duties.
Why does the Mistress need her own “shadow Sector”?
She is in control of the whole operation right?
Well yes, there are a large number of sub-ordinates who answer to her.
Commanders etc. She wants most of them gone….for good.
She does not want to merely stand them down and send them home, along with thousands of other combat units.
Even though they would be well paid, many or atleast some are going to want to come back to the zone to make their own fortune.
These are people who know the inner workings of the company and she could do with a lot less of them in free circulation.
The market for Neon Dark has not gone anywhere and will not go anywhere.
Well why not keep them all?
There is no reason to, financially they are a massive burdon.
Chances are the weapons sales will go the way of the Dinosours, that too all of the support material and technology aswell.
She does buy systems off private contractors such as Zuvic, service capital still.
ORC will go, the systems to support it will aswell, its like well who makes analogue mobile telephones anymore.
So to have a large force of Mercenaries operating off ORC is not ideal.
The Standard Combat Units are just Hired guns, they only want money that’s it. There is no loyalty there. Having thousands off ORC is a disaster waiting to happen.
So in this she needs to start liquidating her assets, that means expending as many standards as possible, but more importantly taking out key commanders.
She cant tell Standards to do that, someone will sound the alarm and there will be a real mutiny.
She needs to take them out from the shadows, long daggers and not have anyone know who has done it.
That’s why she needs her very own, secret shadow sector.

Getting rid of assets is often used in the stock market economy, but in the world of Neon Dark, assets are really human personnel ! And like the liquidators during staff reductions, there, it's really about liquidators! Crazy ! Mistress don t joking, she really have in mind to drasticly reduce the quota of her trooperettes ...And surely, when she achieved her operation, she will reduce her shadows too ... The processus of hiring "Shadows" is dreadfull because that means there are alrready Units so fanatised that they don t need to be ORCed to blindly obey sacrice orders ! Unsane ! And of course, totaly Neon Dark spirit ! Can t wait to see where this Machiavellian plan will lead us!
