From passing the high benchmark of entry standards and getting through the gruelling training she has become a very professional Combatant.
While extremely happy to have gone beyond the Sentry level she was shattered in failing to make Drop Trooper cut off.
Her like many who take on the course dream of being a Gladiatrix.
None of which are exclusive by design or forced numbers. Tanaka would like more to pass from Sentry to Assault but they need to be thinned out none the less.
So how did she fail?
On the final obstacle course.
After 12 weeks of basic which is hard enough
Passing through the sentry segment of two she was almost at the end of the Assault segment.
Infact the final 30 minutes. But this is where most of the drop outs occur.
Its a test of final grit, after two weeks of constant drilling, shooting, running, exercising, combat manoeuvres the final push to the fatigued women is the rope course.
In pitch black they need to find their way over a elevated rope course.
Engaging glowing targets while they are at it. Keeping their whit's about them all while trying not to fall.
To add further confusion to the course, high pitched electronic sound is blared to disorient.
Its intended to weed out those who can't operate in such conditions.
She slipped in the course, grasping on with the back of her knee, losing her rifle and hanging on, trying not to fall into the black abyss. Not being able to tell up from down.
The rifle drop was the fail, the fall would be the confirmation.
When fatigue set in after a few intense minutes she released and fell the 40ft into the catch pool below.
Assault Unit confirmed.
