After spending the night a the pad we left in the morning. I did manage to interview one more V-Corp Combat asset (Which I will release soon) but the first on didn't return.
8 months after that interview I bribed my way into a contract company doing repairs at V-Corp Combat Operations Blocks, the equivalent to Black Factions Sectors or CPDs Sections.
To my surprise I seem to have recognised the first unit I interviewed at the training centre and she was happy to give me an interview.
We were cut short on our last interview, so tell me what's been happening.
"Pretty much when I was called away myself and 40 others proceeded on foot to our Sub Block outpost"
What was that like?
"We walked for 8 hours almost in pitch black. Two walked straight into liquid earth on the way, we managed to pull one out but the other sank in"
and what happened when you got to the Sub Block?
"we were there for literally 15 minutes and were immediately deployed in to support a Zuvic team who were pinned by StarCorp Lackies"
"they didn't want to deploy what they had at the outpost so got us there and sent us in"
How did that go?
"it was a messy engagement, there was myself and another unit with combat experience, the others were just in chaos"
How so?
"Closing distance in the open, no cover, no communication and it basically just turned into one for one against Starcorp"
So who won? Your group obviously?
"we managed to get Zuvic out of their tight spot and escorted them out, but as for the skirm, we lost that. They did outnumber us but they had co-ordination"
So out of your group, how many were EIS?
"14 were left so between leaving the training centre and the engagement 27 EIS"
Thats quite a first experience with V-Corp
"That's was light compared to what's been going on"
Well what has happened that makes that light?
"We had a massive skirm with Starcorp. Massive. Insane."
Ok well describe it to me.
"There is, I should say was, a Starcorp Depot deep into unheld territory, Starcorp had a few thousand units in storage there. Single entrance by ground in, they have a landing pad but fluff launchers all over the top so there is no way we can get transports near it"
"I see numbers on our site start to gradually build to attack this until there are just assets everywhere. They bring in 4 Moose and start taking units to the marshalling zone. Over 30 flights and it starts. Every part cost massive numbers of units. The entrance is the most insane"
"We were entering from the surface as that's the only way in, between the abandoned concrete pad and the entrance to the depot was a single thin catwalk no more than a foot wide, we were rushing across that to the entrance"
What was below it?
"Liquid earth. Its a really good defence set up, you have to watch where you are running on the catwalk, you cant return fire or stop. They were up high just picking us off."
Ok that's insane so how many went in?
"after we got told more than half that were EIS were taking out on the Catwalk. But we couldn't get to the defenders on the roof until the very end"
So what was it like running across?
"One hell of a rush. We were providing covering fire from the other side but the defenders had shielded positions facing down so we couldn't get a hit on them, but the stream of our girls running across didn't stop for anything. Running past you could hear snaps of rounds hitting the wet ground below, I heard someone behind me get hit and thud into the ground, I seen dozens and dozens of bodies sinking into the earth, once I got to the other side it was a relief. But then the real fight started"
How many starcorp were there?
"close to 2000, by the time I got there most had been eliminated, but it just seemed like they never stopped coming, I gotta go"
and that's where this fascinating interview was cut short as her Unit number was called to the marshalling area.
Hopefully we can cross paths again to finish her amazing story
