Early Vanessa - Command Course

How high is too high if you love climbing>?

By the time she was put on the Command Course she had already seen wholesale insanity on Mallera Deep and through Kandis punishment.

At that point everything that came her way was simply a joke.

Its evident fear is not present.

But one thing the Command Course did do to her.

Telling others what to do and them following blindly.

They go through practice rounds and skirm manoeuvrers with non lethal.

Still very heavy with hard hits and injuries. But they keep doing what they were told.

They enter an area of operation and take over command of a Cache where they are scored.

Its not all combat, its inventory management, scheduling, accounting and a host of other factors that is assessed.

She found it boring. (expected much?)

She took a squad from her Cache and went for a patrol.

The squad was comprised mostly of well experienced combat units.

The youngest was towards the end of her 2nd contract, the oldest on her 5th.

They were not too thrilled having such a young commander push them around.

But being the disciplined servants of the Mistress they were, they just follow any order given.

The arrived to a known CPD strong point where just around the corner was multiple CPD waiting for their "patrol".

Vanessa was there for one reason, to order someone to sacrifice themselves.

She had received those orders herself and she was willing and in fact did carry out those orders.

One athletic unit with dark hair and light brown eyes caught her eye. Well experienced and probably a fine combatant. In her 30s and possibly never leaving the company.

In Vanessas head she knows they were hers to use for what ever reason she seen fit so long as it benefits the company.

Engaging with CPD benefits the company. Sending her around the corner against CPD benefits the company.

Her engaging and possibly eliminating an enemy unit benefits the company.

She will 99% sure be expended. She wanted her words to initiate it.
