State of the Game update September 2022

Time for another State of the Game update. September has been productive and I'd like to keep you informed on what's going on.

Game update?

Unfortunately, there's no game update this month. A lot of work has been done behind the scenes, but none of it is ready for showing off yet. There's a whole bunch of new CGs coming up as well as the main story continuing.

I'm aiming for the next update to be late October. I'd love to show you what we've done so far, but it would just look ugly with placeholders.

Mini games

We're looking into adding mini games! Nothing as elaborate as the spy game in Paprika Trainer, but more like fun side games that are easy to pick up and earn some extra rewards with. Things like:

• Alchemy (find herbs and turn them into potions)
• Spin the Bottle
• A recycling mini game to increase your social rank with Counselor Katey
• Fishing

Let us know if there's a specific mini-game you'd like to see in the game as well.

Assets

In order to make the game feel alive, there's going to be a lot of background asset creation. This is, admittingly, not the most exciting part for the players or the developers, but it's vital if you want to make your game come to life.

For those of you who have access to the monthly W.I.P. posts, you will have already seen an early sketch of the monster Gobling irl in the game. That sketches has been finished up and will be a new CG in the next update!

Besides her, there will be more Hazel as well.

Jodsy

For those of you who have been around since the Paprika Trainer days, you'll know that Jodsy my main artist has been stuck in Ukraine since the war began. After losing contact for a long time, I've finally heard back. Luckily, they are okay and relatively safe at the moment. I'll keep you updated in case I hear more.

Wrapping up

That's about it for the state of the game. We're all still very hard at work and can't wait to show you what we've been working on. Thank you again for your support. Seriously, without you, none of this would be possible. <3
