#10 Progress Report 2024/10/11

This is the September progress report for "Sister Virodar." This month, I'd like to mainly share the upcoming update plans.

We’ve received some bug reports, and this month we are working on fixing them.

I’m also considering tweaking some scenes in the game to make the flow more enjoyable.

Upcoming Update Plans

Recently, working on pixel animations has felt a bit stiff and monotonous. I’m not sure how to describe it, but it’s like when you stare at the same letter or word for too long, and suddenly it stops looking familiar.

So, in the next updates, I plan to focus more on drawing static images, like game scenes.

As I mentioned before, the game’s lore is still quite obscure, so I think we need more large-scale scenes to showcase the protagonist’s environment.

In my vision, the remote building where the scribe sister Leta resides will be the protagonist's base of operations.

This building is located deep in the forest, near the edge of a village. Orders or letters sent from areas controlled by other churches will first arrive here.

Due to its remote location, it survived the disaster that swept through the nearby church castle.

Here’s a rough sketch to give you an idea of what I have in mind.

In the middle of the scene is the player's base, and the door in the center can be entered. Moving to the right side of the scene will lead to adventures.

I’ve left some open space on the left side of the scene for future expansions. Additionally, at the blue line on the right side of the scene, I plan for random events to occur before each mission, such as known NPCs coming here to trade or visit.

I’m also considering adding a large map before the player enters a stage, so players can view and choose different stages or locations.

I’m still thinking about new animations, including the pixel appearance of the merchant and the spell-casting of the heretic sister, and possibly the protagonist's prayer, dodge, and attack actions.

I will also continue working on the next part of the running zombie sister’s takedown animation.

The succubus animation has been added to the game, but it still lacks voice acting. After finishing the running zombie sister’s takedown animation, I plan to add voice acting for both.

I’m also considering adding new sound effects and background music, though that’s not a high priority.

Additionally, as we add more animations, we are also working on a gallery room where players can quickly and easily view the animations in the game.
