#16 Progress Report 2025/4/9

Game Update Content

As planned in the previous post, I’ve created new melee attack and shooting animations for the sister Virodar.

The startup and recovery times of the new melee attack have been extended. As compensation, the character's attack damage and range per hit have been increased.
Players can cancel the melee attack during its startup phase by performing actions like movement.

The new shooting animation separates shooting and reloading phases.
If there are bullets remaining in the weapon, players can fire continuously.
During reloading, the character will reload the exact number of bullets missing from the weapon.
Future Update Plans

I hope to make the world map accessible, and I’ll probably start by releasing the castle area. So far, the vast majority of the environments and enemies I’ve drawn come from that region.
I’ll be creating more scenes for the castle area. When that’s done, the environments during gameplay will no longer be randomized — though the events that happen in those scenes will still be random.
In the future, I plan to add a witch NPC who will allow players to revisit the randomized scene mode.
Various features of the small chapel are under development. At the moment, I’m mainly working on planting and trading with merchants.
Besides merchants, I also want to add other types of random visitors.
For example, a group of refugees may arrive — you can ignore them, share some of your food so they can continue their escape, or choose to take them in. If you accept them, they’ll become a kind of “manpower” resource.
Here are some thoughts I currently have about “manpower”:
Manpower will increase food consumption. Based on the number of people, you’ll need to spend additional food each time you set out.
Manpower can be used to build and maintain facilities (like kitchens or workbenches). It can also speed up construction or upgrades. Facility efficiency will also depend on whether there's manpower maintaining it.
In the future, I plan to add some named NPCs with unique portraits who can specialize in certain facilities. Of course, the whole facility system is still very much in a rough concept stage and may change during implementation.
Manpower can also be converted into something like “Faith Points.”
After meeting certain conditions or over time, players can choose to donate their manpower (refugees) to the church. This will reduce food consumption and provide benefits from the church in return.
I’m also considering the possibility of other factions requesting manpower, each offering different kinds of rewards — and the fate of the refugees would differ depending on who takes them.
As for Faith Points, my current idea is that they’re related to the protagonist’s magic strength. The higher the devotion, the stronger holy magic becomes. Certain events or spell effects might also be influenced by devotion.
By the way, in a previous dev update, I mentioned having a large number of different "resources." I plan to simplify them and keep only those that have the most impact on gameplay.

Next, I may focus on these art assets as my main goal.
Follow-up on Slime Animations
Besides the current standard slime, I also have plans for a humanoid slime. But I need to finish the existing slime animations first.Merchant Stall Animation
The merchant currently has an animation where they display their goods, but there aren't actually any items shown under the cloak.
I’m thinking about adding a stall-like scene next to the merchant. While the merchant showcases their goods, the stall would unfold at the same time, revealing the items inside.
Maybe the stall could be something assembled from a cart?New UI
I need proper UI for planting, the inventory system, and the world map.More Environments
Based on the world map, a large number of new scenes will be needed to match the expanded areas.Voice Actors, Sound Effects, and Music
I’ve already been contacting new voice actors, and I hope to have new voices in the next update.
