You get the dogs for free to start but to get the rest you have to undergo a trial to defeat it. So he would have fought the frogs and everything else in the same manner. Basically just summoned it here because he was fucked anyway so may as well start the ritual for the thing no one has ever gotten under their control if you're gonna go out regardless

With how they had no op, and played the op song at the end there, this episode makes for a good stopping point or mid-season finale. However long it takes for shit to get sorted out behind the scenes, one way or another (preferably with the animators getting their much needed rest, and either management somehow turning over a new leaf, or new non-exploitive management taking over altogether).
