BlampCo Monthly Debrief - August 2025

Greetings employees!

As summer officially turns over into autumn and, more importantly, ADAM’S BIRTHDAY MONTH recedes into the distance, we are here to give the latest monthly debrief, and let you know how your kindly pledged cashola is being used to make BlampCo as big and as absolutely not evil as it can be.

The TL:DR version - we’re saving money at a really good rate now, stockpiling reserves to allow us to FILM MORE GAMES.

Equipment:

We’ve finally bitten the bullet and bought the very nice, very expensive Camera Lens for our overhead shots. It’s the Canon EF 11-24mm f4L USM and it’s an absolute cadillac of a wide-angle lens. You’ll have seen it in action during our Ponzi Scheme video, and it really allows us to punch in on individual cards without losing much detail at all. We managed to find a really good quality one second-hand, and now it’ll live in our studio forever!

We’ve also bought a pair of Røde Splitter Cables, which will allow us to simplify how we record audio. We’re still focusing on this aspect of production as it’s not QUITE there yet. We’re now looking into programmes that can we use to equalise the audio to make Adam’s voice less echoey than everyone else’s. We’ve tried asking him to keep it down, but he appears to be biologically incapable of that.

We nabbed a bunch of Power Adapters to let us hook up our Blackmagic cameras to our streaming computer to improve our livestreams.

Last, and least, we purchased a pair of Switch 2 Joy Cons. We don’t want to talk about it.

Payroll + Freelancers:

As ever, when the cornerstone of your business is creating content with talented folk, making sure those talented folk are well paid for their contributions in building BlampCo remains our highest priority. Getting PAID this month:

• Adam & Teri continue to draw their salary, the cowards

• Our Fantasy Booking editor has been working double time to help us blitz through our long-ass queue of booking commissioned by you lovely people 

  

• Viv & Isaac both recorded episodes of A Rad Time this month; look for Isaac’s to drop in mid-September. His choice: Top 10 Animes

• Our wonderful modding team has been clocking in plenty of hours making sure our community is a joyful place

• We’ve paid Tom, Pete, Carla and Holly for this month’s Zoom BoardRooms, the second of which will follow in September and feature the gang playing SIMILO

• The wonderful Dan Layton will be paid for the Live Reactions of Clash In Paris that we’ll be streaming tomorrow at 7pm BST | 2pm ET | 11am PT

  

Subscriptions:

All the usual suspects are accounted for, including insurance for all our equipment, our accountants, Adobe, Zoom Pro, Netflix, Epidemic Sound and, of course, The Pandemonium Institute.

Future Plans/Expenses:

We of course have our new BOTC series, which we’re filming TODAY, and which we’ll detail more thoroughly in next month’s debrief, once we’ve finalised how much money it will have cost us. 

We’re also planning some really fun formats, but the biggest change to our schedule is that we’re now going to be filming in-person BoardRooms every month, rather than every two. Each month, we’re going to film one big game to be released on the YouTube channel (next month’s is going to be MOONRAKERS), as well as two smaller 30-40 minute games. Those smaller games will also be shot in-person and released on the Patreon, two releases a month just for YOU.

In essence we’re going to be replacing the Zoom Board Rooms with shorter in-person games (we’re going to call the series Could Have Been An Email) and releasing those every month. We may need to up our editing staff to pull this off, but we’re going to be doing that anyway. We’re really excited about this - we’ll be able to record a much wider-variety of games, not just those with online functionality, and be more reactive to new games entering our collection.

Now that Clocktower content exists, we’ll still be able to feature our online-only contributors, while also producing more in-person stuff, which is the best form of gaming content, in our opinion.

Finally, we’re planning SPOOKY SEASON, adding one more recording session for a very special gaming experience, just for Halloween. Hooray!
