Instead of developer’s plans
Added 2018-03-11 15:30:20 +0000 UTCHello guys! Want to share with you what’s going to happen next. In short – I’m putting LoC on hold and stopping monthly pledges so you don’t need to worry about the money. All release waves for 0.3.0 proceed by the usual schedule.
Why? Well, I did my best making LoC but still failed. All the money I set aside for this development experiment is gone and it’s time to check the results. Let’s face it – League of Corruption is not good enough and I don’t know how to fix it in a quick way.
From overall interest to Patreon’s support, LoC is on the same level as pretty crappy copy -> paste projects despite the time and effort I put into it. Grace and subtlety of a sledgehammer, yes, but it’s true.
I found out that many features in the game added little to LoC’s real value but demanded a lot of time to implement and maintain. For example, parallax maps looked nice compared to default tilesets, true, they also didn’t change much. While animation could be a great feature to have, I’m pretty sure you need a dedicated team member to pull it off with acceptable quality. At least these two were mistakes for LoC.
“Make more content and people will get interested” is no longer a convenient excuse to bite the bullet and continue. I followed the monthly update schedule for half a year now and each update brought something new. Puzzles, minigames, animated scenes, parallax maps, PoV switch options and so on – the problem is, it didn’t change much.
In contrast to this, some developers forget about their projects for a month or even several months and still have greater support than LoC ever had. If this doesn’t speak about the player interest I don’t know what does.
I would like to say sorry to my patrons but I can’t continue developing LoC like this. It was a black hole for my free time and money for half a year. Yes, the game got a small community (thanks for the support, Zhalt) yet it’s impossible to go on while Patreon brings me a sum which is barely enough to cover a single static art image.
I need to rework the game to make it interesting and I can’t do this while pumping out new content each month. Maybe this pause will give me the opportunity to stop and develop a solution.
How long will this pause be? I’ll be honest with you – I don’t know, it depends on the fact that I need a spark to make a new shape for LoC. It may take a month or two, possibly more.
I guess that’s it. Thanks for taking interest in LoC and I’m sorry for the trouble.

Thanks for the idea. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with them and doubt they will bother with a random person but there's a chance.

2018-04-05 08:18:39 +0000 UTCMaybe add battle fuck options to the combat, there is always demand for that. You already have a perfect setting for it with all the mind control going on, the hero would be able to command the girls to h enemies while he is bashing them in the skulls or casts spells. As he gives in to the corruption and his mind control powers grow he would be able to order the girls to do more nasty things to the enemies or even control them to some extent.

2018-03-29 18:24:15 +0000 UTCI don't think reliability is the issue here. LoC got half a year worth of updates on a monthly schedule without a single delay. I could potentially bite the bullet and finish the game with barebone core content in about 5 months. But why? Completing it just for the sake of completing it? No, Vox Populi is clear - the current version of LoC is not good/interesting enough to support. Completed or not. I've seen fresh developers with 0 finished projects assemble 500$+ in the first 3-4 weeks. LoC didn't manage this in 6 months.

2018-03-28 15:50:44 +0000 UTCWell, shit. I can only suggest that you create smaller project that will take few months to complete from start to finish, that way you will show people that you are reliable and hopefully get some support.

2018-03-27 09:56:14 +0000 UTCreally sad seeing you not to succeed. I really enjoyed the mechanics and effort you put in into the game and hoped that your game will pick up some support after a bunch of releases. I think what kept your game mostly behind is the artstyle of the scenes. Those faces dont look good at all and I'm sure with a different artist you would have had much more support.
2018-03-18 14:31:17 +0000 UTCI'm afraid Patreon allows only creator patron personal messages so we have to share contacts for direct communication. Please use yeehawgames@gmail.com so we could discuss the details. I'm quite interested in your work, namely the illustrator portion of it.

2018-03-15 14:19:07 +0000 UTCHi, I want to offer myself as a cheap programer/ilustrator/designer, for this or another project. Please PM me.
2018-03-15 02:00:59 +0000 UTCSaddening to see to be honest. Wasn't a patron, since I can't really afford any monthly spendings currently, but I followed your project eagerly. If I'm not mistaken, it is currently the only LoL-Hgame-Project with high quality and we really need more of those, which is one of the reasons I would've loved to see it succeed. But alas, we are here. There are a few other Developers that had to close down because they tried to have much more quality in a 0.X version than they could afford, so don't be so hard on yourself for that. I really, really hope after some time you will come back and maybe then I will be able to support as well. Best of luck to you!

2018-03-13 06:40:57 +0000 UTCThank you. On the other hand, you have a plenty of time to decide how you want to use your tier's benefit :)

2018-03-12 08:14:26 +0000 UTCThanks. Your thoughts partly confirm my own conclusion. The idea was to offer the best features I could do to establish the interest yet it didn't happen. As for publicity, I have 13 forums, itch, gamejolt and 3 subreddits - don't know what to add here honestly. IMHO, the publicity wasn't a problem.

2018-03-12 08:11:46 +0000 UTCCan't blame ya. Only $252/month isn't NEARLY enough for what would be close to at least full-time work, or even part-time work. Really needed more promotion.
