Dev's plans for January -> February period.

Hello, it’s time for another dev’s plans - January -> February period. This time will be a bit different since Ouro has overly negative player feedback so far, thus I’ll be changing my developing approach closer to Yorna’s. Let’s see what’s coming in greater detail.

First of all, sorry for misinforming you during one of the early January weekly reports. I mentioned that Ouro will receive a guest character Sarana in v0.1.5 but New Year’s celebrations made it impossible. So, I had to switch for doctor Gut’s scene. At the same time, I completely forgot to inform you about it. Sarana will appear in v0.2 with the start of her mini-story.

Looks like my initial plan for Ouro’s experiment didn’t succeed so I will adapt some of Yorna’s gameplay and flow elements. These changes will affect future content (v0.2 and greater) yet I’m ready to go back and rework the existing content if these tweaks will improve the situation.

What these changes will be? I have several concepts. Combat rework to focus more on 1v1 encounters that are more easily balanced and adapted. Less text, akin to Yorna’s talks with Ayane instead of lengthy Freak’s conversations and so on.

I will take down the 2k goal shortly since it’s unviable to plan 2 fully animated scenes in a month with the current interest dynamics. I planned to use animation as one of the main features, but it turned out to be a huge waste of time. Don’t worry, Ouro will still receive the usual animated scene in the upcoming months while I will work on adapting Yorna’s logic elements for the game.

So, as you can see, I will be more focused on polishing internal logic and adapting new content to it rather than adding new features. I have some ideas about these, yet they’ll have to wait until the core game will get a positive reception from players.

Stay tuned for updates and don’t forget to take part in the dress poll

Oh well, it happens. I will try to fix the situation and improve Ouro. As for the correct options, nobody can say for sure in the development process so it massively relies on trial and error.

Imagine starting a new game after completing one but not growing. Oro was the wrong choice.

Yes, I think this is the right decision to focus on adapting the Jorn's logical elements for the game.
