He struggles to close the pants, finally gets them on but they rip open. He resorts to elastic waistband pants, which do close. In the final panel he's oblivious to the fact his shirt (hawaiian? guayabera? flannel? T-shirt?) isn't covering the bottom of his tummy while he's walking at work.
