Gumbo startup p3: The title and the idea

So I was wishy washy on what to call the next comic, but I knew what I wanted to do. A story about trying to be yourself, not overdoing it to compensate or undersell yourself, and a story about two dumb boys who are awkwardly slamming each other in their dormroom, spinning the cliche of "hot jock and nerd guy" on its head a bit with some fun new age ideas.

I also knew I wanted to try some new techniques for this story. a visual theme of linear design because Ross is studying archetectural engineering and then popping fun styles due to Hugh is a big anime gamer dork.

But the name was eluding me! till I asked random people for help and someone mentioned the word "Gumbo" and...

I loved it.

Gumbo can have lots of different meats in it. like chicken, AND gator. its a delicious dish that can surprise someone that it mixes so well. kinda like these two boys~

SO I made this cute lil banner/logo! using some half tones and other stuff I've been l earning with CSP. I'm going to update the main page today too!~
