2017-12-29 09:27:19 +0000 UTCWhile I haven't read the book so I don't know how it's framed, my first thought about the date-your-own-kind message was not that it was white supremacy. As the werewolves are a small group that are very concerned about protecting themselves, it seems more like the kind of attitudes that can be found in some e.g. Romani and Orthodox Jewish communities, where young people are discouraged from dating outside the community to protect it from assimilation into mainstream society. That being said, in either case, it still sucks for the kids.
