House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 4 REACTION!! (full watch along)

Vhagar is a battle hardened dragon. Her kind especially is made for war, while Dragons like Syrax are bred for speed. Valyrians bred dragons according to their needs. Meraxes, Balerion, Vhagar and Vermithor are all dragons bred for war, same was for Drogon. The only reason she isn't more aggressive is because she is out of her prime, unlike for example Vermithor. One could say a dragon enters his prime at close to 100 years old, and it lasts maybe 4 to 5 decades, give or take. So 100-150 +-10%

"Mushroom is Mushroom"...so very true...

Vhagar accepted him. She loves it.

Yeah I agree, I had some issues especially with Alicent and Rhaenyraโ€™s agency in the first season and a few other small things, but it all makes sense the more you consider the greater plot and the events of this season. We sometimes forget the 3 POV all have their own biases and are likely very sexist and Mushroom is Mushroomโ€ฆ.

SeanThePrawn

I feel bad for Vhagar it's not her fault she has a blood thirsty maniac as a rider.

Last season I was very worried about some of the changes but I now realize the brilliance in them. For example I was a little uneasy about them leaning into the "Song of Ice & Fire" Prophecy. I thought it was an odd choice given that a lot of people hated how the Night King was dispatched of & by who. Especially considering the fact a lot of the lore, magic & prophecy was abandoned in the later season. Intially I had thought perhaps they were stressing the Prophecy because of rumors about a potential Jon Snow sequel series. Part of me believed at the time they might be doing a retcon of sorts if they made that show. Basically what I thought they were going to is say since Prophecy wasn't fulfilled by the "Prince Who Was Promised" what Arya did was "hit reset" not end the Wight Walkers & Night King permanently and it was going to be up to Jon to fix that mistake. However it turns out the reason why they are using it is two-fold the first being that it gives Rhaenera a bigger selfless reason to her sitting the Iron Throne. The second part being this series will establish why the Seven Kingdoms weren't prepared for this threat. It is clear now that since the book "Fire & Blood" is told from 3 people's POV it wouldn't be included in their accounts of the Dance of the Dragons since the prophecy was kept secret beyond a select few so they didn't know it existed. I also didn't love the death bed misunderstanding sort of letting Alicent of the hook. However it turned out to be a master stroke of storytelling because of the Kingslanding meet up between Rhaenera & Alicent revealed to Alicent her mistake. I had been worried the two characters would never again meet up and Alicent would never find out how wrong she was. Personally I originally thought I would have liked to have seen this reveal between the two near the end of the series showing a montage of all the carnage, chaos & killing going through Alicent's head learning of her misunderstanding. Showing her horror & disgust for what she caused. Now I think it was better to have this reveal to occur in a way that now Alicent has to live with the mistake & her decision to not fix the mistake. In reality even if Alicent went to the Green council immediately after the meeting nothing would have changed. Yet now she will be riddled with "What Ifs" in regards to not attempting to explain her mistake in addition to guilt. Plus it shows Rhaenera tried everything to prevent war giving her back the moral upper hand she had lost to Alicent 20 years ago when she lied to her about the brothel & Daemon.

The "plan B tea" is based on the real life Pennyroyal Tea. Pennyroyal tea is an oil based elixir made from the leafy part of a flowering plant it was used as abortifacient & to help with menstruation. The way the body processes it stimulates blood flow in the pelvic region & uterus however it is extremely toxic to the liver. Most people know about it's existence because of Nirvana's song "Pennyroyal Tea" dealing with its use by friends of Kurt Cobain. He found it interesting that many of his friends who attempted to use it claimed it never worked. However this is likely do to the fact the Pennyroyal Tea in Europe was different than the North American version because they were made from different plants. The North American version has it roots in Native American medicine. While equally deadly to the liver, this version was used to induce perspiration to help with fevers, sweat out toxins and even to ward off night bugs & fleas. To also answer the question about Daemon's hands appearing to be bloody. It most likely was sap from the Weirwood Tree he was seen by in episode 3. Although the woods witch mentions his bed was made from the same type of tree so it could have been from part of the bed oozing. This is not a spoiler it is mentioned in GOT, History & Lore and hinted at in HOTD many of the walls in Harrenhal were made from the wood from the same trees causing many guest to believe the walls were bleeding only adding to the belief in the castle's curse.

I knew when I first heard that there was going to be ๐Ÿ‰ fighting, that I was going to completely hate it. I was ๐Ÿ’ฏ% correct. This was the saddest thing ever. It totally ๐Ÿ’” to see Meleyse look back at Rhaenys right before they fell. I never realized that Dragonstone was part of "Old Valyria". The ๐Ÿ‰s made that ๐Ÿฐ by melting the stone, and then the stone was molded into a ๐Ÿฐ. This was an awesome way of making a ๐Ÿฐ, because it used no mortar, joints, or chisels, which made the ๐Ÿฐs superior, and they required less military assistance. That is why Dragonstone has such a unique look to it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿชจโ€ผ๏ธ I am pretty sure Aegon and Sunfyre both live...They are just extremely wounded. Rhaenys and Meleys were both Beasts, and they went out like champs, but it didn't make it any easier to watch. Please, get better ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”ฅ. I am pretty sure the ๐Ÿ‰ figurine that Alicent broke, might have been the same one that ๐Ÿคด Viserys broke in Season 1, and Alicent had the Stonemasons fix it (before they even got married). Alicent is a ๐Ÿ‘ถ killer in more than one way, because she is partly to blame for ๐Ÿ‘ถ Jaehaerys's death as well. She could have married Criston Cole and kept that ๐Ÿ‘ถ, at least so Prince Jaehaerys's gruesome death wasn't completely in vain (so he didn't just die so they could have sex). It is so crazy that Larys is the "Master of Whisperers", and in "GoT", Varys had that title...Their names are almost identicle. Tyrion was one of my favorite characters, until he narced on Varys, which caused him to get executed for no reason. If Tyrion would have left it alone, hundreds of thousands (if not a million) of lives could have been saved. Aemond is definately more intelligent than Aegon, because he actually studied History, instead of skipping class to ra** servant girls. Shame on you Aegon, for real. We got to see the "Catspaw" ๐Ÿ—ก again in this Episode. That is one of my favorite weapons in my Collection, and it is sharp as heck. I used to respect Corlys, but not after I found out he cheated on Rhaenys, and especially not after the way he spoke to her, after she was trying to give his Bastard Son honor, and even saying that his Mother must have been beautiful. ๐Ÿ–•, Corlysโ€ผ๏ธMaybe he will see how much she was worth, now that he isn't going to have a Ride-Or-Die woman in his life anymore. I am so ๐Ÿ˜ข that Rhaenys and Meleys are gone, but they definately went out in Glory. I don't know if I am going to be able to handle the rest of this Series, if it is just going to be ๐Ÿ‰s fighting and killing each other. It is just too ๐Ÿ˜ข. Meleys was beautiful. Vhaegar is not pretty. She looks like a tank...Better yet, she looks like a ๐Ÿ”. I don't hate her though. She wouldn't have done that unless Aemod commanded her to. She is "Balerion The Black Dread's" Sister. She didn't quite reach his size, but she came close. Unleashing these ๐Ÿ‰s back then, would be like us unleashing Nuclear Weapons today...Complete, utter destruction. The sad thing about the ๐Ÿ‰s is, they don't want to fight, kill, and go to war. They just want to be peaceful creatures, and man is ordering them to do these things. Oh, and I seriously wanted stupis Criston Cole to get stepped on by Vhagar. I will keep watching, but this Episode really ripped my ๐Ÿซ€out. I know it tore you up too, Nikki. I feel your pain. ๐Ÿ˜ญ *R.I.P.*, Rhaenys & Meleys ๐Ÿ˜ญ *R.I.P.*, Alicent's ๐Ÿ‘ผ *Get Well Soon*, Sunfyre ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿฉน ๐Ÿ–•*Team ๐ŸŸฉ* (๐Ÿคฐโ˜ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿต๐Ÿ‘ผ๐ŸŸฐ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฎ) ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ ๐Ÿฐโš”๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฐ๐Ÿ—ก๐Ÿ›ก๐Ÿน๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿชต๐Ÿ–ค ๐ŸŒซ๐ŸŒฌ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’€๐ŸŒซ๐ŸŒฌ๐Ÿ’จโ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿชฆ ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‰ ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฏ

Its just really bad strategic minds in general. Rhaenyra doesn't realize that she plays the game of thrones, and shouldn't have sent Daemon away. Caraxes and Daemon's battle experience was crucial. Its a matter of life and death for her and her family, and again she puts her personal life first, he is an abusive husband we all get it, but she needed him and had to sent him after she wins the war. Secondly, you never send your most important military asset alone, there is a reason that fighter planes always have a wingman, Caraxes should have been there and Daemon would've suspected the trap. Of course Daemon was right telling Rhaenys they should attack and kill Vhagar in the first episodes. Meanwhile she responded by saying that Aemond should be afraid if he encounters a mourning Rhaenyra on Syrax which shows how delusional and naive Rhaenys can be. What they should've done: Vermithor is the second largest dragon in Westeros, he is incredibly menacing, the only one to surpass Vhagar's wrath and thirst for battle(by far), he is incredibly aggressive, that is why he is nicknamed the "Bronze Fury" and he is the fastest growing dragon( in rate) in the history of Westeros(bigger than even Ballerion was at his age.) First thing that should've been done is have every blood related relative try to claim him. With him, Caraxes and Maelys, The Greens would've never stood a chance. The plan should be, stay at dragonstone till Vermithor is claimed, have some practice, then Fly Vermithor, Caraxes, Maelys, Syrax in kings Landing, set a trap, with 2 of them, have Vermithor and Maelys ambush and smash Vhagar, while Syrax and Caraxes (the two fastest and most agile) bait and kite him. Its crazy that everyone except for Daemon refuses to understand that if you kill Vhagar the greens are done for, and he is by far the biggest threat to the Black's existence.

Steve, the second biggest Dragon is Vermithor. Riderless at that point. It`s the dragon Daemon was singing to back in Season 1

Marco Timmer

Wow what a masterpiece, as a book reader Iโ€™m blown away.

SeanThePrawn

Also to be fair most of the soldiers Cole brought were expendable soldiers from the castles he captured and forced them to fight for him and weren't 100% for Aegon. Also they didn't send Rhaenyra or Jacaerys for same reason they wouldn't let Aegon go into battle, you can't have the "Queen/King or heir" risking their lives especially but now that they are the only two that know of "Aegon's dream" the risk is way higher if they die and we also see how going into battle easily went south real fast for Aegon.

CapnHook

The video took a while. Maybe Nikki was still recovering from the last 15 mins of episode 4
