Disney needs to re-release the original, theatrical versions of "Star Wars", "The Empire Strikes Back", and "Return Of The Jedi". I'm talking about the versions prior to 1997 before George Lucas added all of the extra stuff in them. I would put all three of them out in theaters again for a limited run, and then I would release them on Blu-Ray for a limited time only before putting them on moratorium. I used to work in the video store business during the 1990's, and even during that time, Disney was notorious for being stingy about re-releasing their classic films. They will only put out so few at a time on a limited basis before making them unavailable again. However, I do think it would be a great idea to re-release the original, theatrical versions and clean them up with digital remastering and restoration. Why haven't they done so already? I have no idea, but if I had to guess I would say George Lucas. I'm guessing that he's blocking any potential re-release of these versions as he considers the newer versions the correct ones.

2019-05-13 03:02:09 +0000 UTCI remember going to see Star Wars as a child, and watching that scene where Darth Vadar and his Storm Troopers rip through the Rebellion forces in that corridor, and it sending shivers up my spine. Now, I just haven't connected with the new movies the way I would have wanted to. Whether that's because I wanted something more raw, and close to what I understood the characters to be. I don't know ... I'll just have to go back and rewatch them and maybe I will find that connect.
