Chernobyl Episode 2 REACTION!! (extended)

Comments

Agree with this 100%. Steven: (no spoilers) There is a direct reference near the end of E3 about what you'll see in E4. Pay close attention, what's coming is mentioned explicitly. E4 is unflinching in it's depiction. Been watching & proudly supporting you guys for over a year and so I offer this info with all respect: several scenes will be extremely distressing for Nikki.

The fact that we are/were all speechless is testament to how brilliantly this show was made.

Tell Nikki to emotional prepare for Episode 4. It's 2 episodes away, but she's going to need the prep time.

I live in Norway, and I was 15 when it happened, and I remember it well. We were told to stay indoors when it was raining, and it was quite scary as I didn't really know how bad it was and it was an invisible threat. Norway was one of the countries most affected outside of the Soviet Union, because of the wind directions and rain. We couldn't fish in many lakes, and it affected food production greatly, and a lot had to be destroyed. Even today in some areas the sheep and reindeer farmers have to monitor the radioactivity in the animals.

Haha Stellan is dad of the century. His amazing talent passed on to all his kids. :)

When Scherbina talks about kids in Frankfurt Germany being kept indoors, here is a sense of the distance: Chernobyl to Frankfurt would be the distance from my house near Atlanta to Phoenix Arizona. I lived in Germany for 15 years & many of my German, Dutch, UK, & Scandinavian friends remember the effects of Chernobyl. They were kept indoors & livestock + entire crops were destroyed - especially fruit, spinach, carrots, potatoes, & other root vegetables used to make baby food. Even in Holland and UK they took precautionary measures like this. Imagine a disaster happening here in Atlanta potentially affecting the animals, food, & air quality all the way to you guys in California. Every year Germany spends hundreds of millions on cleanup related to Chernobyl. In 2018 the total global cost of recovery reached $235B. The world has addressed about 10% of Chernobyl's lasting impact. If this series brought home any message to me, it is how much people across our planet truly depend upon one another. And how the bravery, sacrifice, & love for humanity demonstrated by regular, nameless Soviet citizens affects our lives to this day. Shout out to Stellan Skarsgard who plays Scherbina, the father of the actors who play Floki, Pennywise, and Sheriff Eric Northman. πŸ™Œ #geneticlotterywinner

I can’t remember the one guy’s name. I know he played the rival/friend of Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting. But his acting in the scene where he’s coming to terms with the fact that he’ll be dead within 5 years was phenomenal! Can’t wait for episode 3

A shocking but relevant detail....The clothes that the firefighters were wearing was actually taken off from them in the hospital ward just like in the show and put in the basement and that clothing is still in that basement and is some of the most radioactive thing you can still find on earth!
