Just rewatching. And the woman who lost the baby, see that she lived in Kyiv. And WOW she’s been being bombed by Russia. Since Kyiv is now Ukraine. And the Russians were bombing near Chernobyl. And reports were many got stuck in the woods and had radiation poisoning. I hope she and her son are ok.

2019-07-21 21:15:10 +0000 UTCI own that book, it's a heavy read but very informative. Anyone who thought that Dyatlov's character in the mini-series was exaggerated, believe it or not he was even more of a dick than we got to see.

2019-07-20 05:40:48 +0000 UTCBand of brothers is officially my 2nd favorite show of all time after Breaking Bad, it was supposed to be GoT but the last 2 seasons dropped it for me :/

2019-07-19 22:23:33 +0000 UTCI really don't recall most of the things I specifically learned in school especially around history because I was not good at retaining that information. I'm sure it was mentioned at some point of high school or college. I'm happy to have learned it now though cause it has way more impactful now. -S

2019-07-19 22:23:00 +0000 UTCI picked up the book Midnight in Chernobyl after the first episode and it really helps fill out the series. They have no relation to each other. Fargo was an amazing show I can't wait to see how season 4 turns out with Chris Rock.

2019-07-19 21:16:54 +0000 UTCI dont know if this is something you guys woud consider. but i i think it would be cool if you guys reacted to mini series every now and then. since they don't take as much commitment as shows with multiple seasons. here is a list of some of the best ones i have seen: American Crime story: Versace, The Jinx, Hatfeilds and Mccoys, Fargo, Band of brothers and the Pacific.

2019-07-19 16:32:35 +0000 UTCI don't think it was told backwards; it was structured more as a whodunnit murder mystery. The identity and the motives and means of the culprit are withheld from the audience, and set up as what the heroes of the story have to investigate and discover. And then at the end, the guilty party is confronted, and the evidence presented. In murder mysteries, it's very common for the beginning of the story to present a version of the event to the audience that's full of holes, and then at the end when the evidence is being presented, those holes are filled in via flashback.

2019-07-19 15:05:22 +0000 UTCIf you have interest/time/whatever, I'd recommend watching the beginning of the first episode (the recording) again now that you know what happened and caused the accident. You will listen to it in a fairly new light.

2019-07-19 12:17:59 +0000 UTCDo you guys have any memory in high school history, or for me college.... because I studied tremendous amounts of history and it never, by memory, touched on this story. Horribly ashamed I didn't know about it. Side note:' one of the hardest things about storytelling is when to enter the story, how to structure it and how to exit. Telling it backwards essentially, was brilliant. And natural. Brilliant.

2019-07-19 11:57:28 +0000 UTCYou should play the Call of duty 4 campaign on twitch at some point. It's how I learned about what Chernobyl was and it made the show so much more impactful.

2019-07-19 10:18:09 +0000 UTCThe trial of Dyatlov (sp?) didn't actually go down like this. There was no big dramatic moment where Legasov unveiled the truth of what happened, no objections, none of that. The testimony at the trial was pretty much created for dramatic and storytelling purposes, to wrap things up and explain how what happened in Chernobyl happened in a way that would make sense to the audience. Instead, Legasov kept trying to push the Soviet party to make changes and instead they refused and burned him, stripping him of all titles and importance. He then made his audio memoir, circulated it in the scientific community and killed himself. That basically sent his colleagues into action and they then pressured the government en masse to make the changes needed to the remaining reactors.
