2020-03-12 09:07:25 +0000 UTCI listened to the Better Call Saul insider podcast for this episode and apparently that trick that Jimmy pulled in the courtroom was inspired by real events. Peter Gould, the co-creator of BCS, said he had heard about someone who actually did this. Pretty hilarious lol

To add to what the others mentioned in the comments, here's a quote from the BTS video of last video: “That Howard can grieve Chuck’s death and not have it destroy him, almost irks Jimmy more than anything else because he hasn’t been able to do that.” – Co-Executive Producer Gordon Smith

2020-03-11 16:44:38 +0000 UTCThe reason for the bowling balls: From Jimmy's perspective, if Howard had the backbone to hire him when he passed the bar, he wouldn't have had to be broke and desperate and living out of the back of a nail salon for who knows how long working as a PD. He wouldn't have had to suffer all the shame and embarassment during Sandpiper. Howard once pulled money out of his wallet and petulantly thrust it at Jimmy as a "handout", calling him a beggar, saying he was like Gollum. I love Howard but Jimmy has every reason to take him coming around finally as an insult

2020-03-11 02:55:12 +0000 UTCSince Jimmy last confronted Howard, Howard has visibly been doing better and better. Every time we've seen Howard, he's looked a little happier, a little better, and a little more at peace with things. I think Howard admires how Jimmy went through all that shit and still came out on top, relatively speaking. I think he took what Jimmy said about using his anger as fuel to heart, and as a result, Howard is seeing Jimmy for what Jimmy is - an excellent lawyer, despite everything that's happened in the past. Jimmy, however, is obviously still not at peace with himself or his past and still resents Howard.

2020-03-10 19:49:06 +0000 UTCKim's new name... Anita Richman She arranges sham marriages between lonely rich guys and green card seeking "mail order brides". A percentage of the "order fee" is kept by Kim, and the rest goes to the supposed green card seeker. After a short amount of time, Kim and/or Jimmy fabricate evidence of infidelity or abuse, possibly by paying off prostitutes to act as supposed mistresses - and have their clients sue for divorce. They wind up getting hundreds of thousands of dollars as part of these settlements - obviously taking a good percentage as their fee.
2020-03-10 18:36:44 +0000 UTCI don't think Kim just gets a rush from scamming - I think she is coming around to being more in line with Season 1 and 2 Jimmy, where the ends justify the means if it is for the good of the client. Unfortunately, Jimmy has moved far past that..

2020-03-10 17:51:31 +0000 UTCI'm kinda excited about what's inevitably going to happen. With Jimmy/Saul representing Acker against Mesa Verde, I bet they're going to make Kim defend them. Hoo boy.

2020-03-10 17:32:47 +0000 UTCI think that's what the NAMAST3 license plate speaks to. And Jimmy somewhere inside can't stand that Howard has found peace with Chuck's passing and Jimmy hasn't.

2020-03-10 13:45:22 +0000 UTCYeah, Howard has been in therapy for over a year and probably has a lot of clarity on things.

2020-03-10 13:34:06 +0000 UTCI disagree that Howard's desperate. I think he's just a new man. Back in season 2 when Kim left HHM Howard told her about how his father talked him into staying there and how what he had really wanted to do was go out and make it on his own. So clearly his father controlled his career and then when he retired/passed away Chuck was still there making the big decisions. Now Howard's finally in control of the firm himself and has worked through his grief and trauma through therapy and is looking to make amends, since obviously Jimmy's speech to him helped him motivate himself out of his slump. I think this is the most genuine we've ever seen Howard be.
