I have been watching you guys since season 8 of TWD and really enjoyed your reactions through GOT. I knew of your Patreon, but I didn't have the ability for a little while to join. I saw that you were reacting to this: I have now joined. I plan on staying afterward for whatever comes after, but this is so entertaining a show that I had to see what you guys thought through out the whole episodes. To me it was the best new show last year and the entire premiere season was the best first season ever to me. Not a weak episode in the 8 episodes. Enjoy, I know we will watching along with you.

Ennis, for nine years, was the main writer for Marvel's Punisher comics. He's well known for his disdain for powered superheroes - he sees them...well, basically how they are portrayed in The Boys. He very much likes heroes that have no powers (like The Punisher), especially when pitted against powered superheroes. One of his most memorable Punisher comic (at least, the one I liked the most) had Daredevil, Spiderman and Wolverine teaming up to take Frank Castle down. Castle outwits them all and kicks their asses.

2020-04-29 01:31:54 +0000 UTCI could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that they directly modeled "The Seven" after the Justice League, as closely as possible without getting into legal trouble. Every member of "the Seven" has a counterpart in the Justice League (A-Train = the Flash, Maive = Wonder Woman, Homelander = Superman, etc). The pitch for The Boys was basically "what if the Justice League was completely corrupt?"

I was very much "Boy, you gonna regret them words!" :) I took this show in how what REAL LIFE what would happen if there were real people with superpowers. Take your average person, and give them superpowers, power corrupts. Humans will be humans. Real life people with superpowers, would end up being super corrupt. And for certain, a company that could "employ" sups, would be very rich, very powerful, and see themselves as above the law. This is how capitalism works. This show is EXTREMELY hard to predict, it loves twists and turns. But it was a vary satisfying watch. You there are many "holy shit" moments to come! I'm going to enjoy watching you discover every one! :)

But why? Imagine you get superpowers, make alot of money and the "common" people celebrate you as their saviour. Maybe you start your superhero career with good intentions (like Starlight) but how long will that last? Suddenly you can do whatever you want without any fear of bad repercussions. Are you sure, that you will stay "good" in the long run or will that position of power corrupt you step by step over time?

It is something good to help kill the time in this stay home type isolation. Here where I live.
