Agree or disagree with him, Flint isn't wrong that England or Spain will come for them at some point. He is thinking big picture while Vane lives in the moment alot. They're very opposing personalities which makes for great conflict. -I can't wait for you guys to see the next episode. It's a personal favorite. -The Vane actor doesn't quite sound like that in real life. He's American so doing the British accent makes his voice a bit lower but he is kind of naturally raspy. -Some fun for a moment. Luke Arnold (Silver) is also a published author and the cast has come together to help promote his books and it ended in this gem of a video. But not because of anything personal, it's because Vane is the only pirate capable of going through with his threat and taking the gold. Any other pirate Flint would laugh at such threats. These two truly are equals in so many ways whilst being diametrically different at the same time. Because of how amazing the flashbacks are, by this point I was dying to know what happened to Flint? Like you guys said how did he become Flint! Every Flint and Silver scene is 10/10. The character and relationship developments in this show are second to none.

He protected the island against an oppressing crew, eliminating them, and opened commerce in town. Like you said, The main reason Flint is willing to cripple the island is not wanting Vane in the landscape. He willing to sacrifice the island for his personal vendetta. I wish it was Vane saying DRACERYS on Flintβs ship!!
