2021-08-04 02:35:01 +0000 UTCThese last 2 episodes have done a terrific job in altering the landscape of this character driven story by shifting the mindsets of so many characters. Like you said James McGraw sought reconciliation but tragically leaves as Flint consumed with vengeance. Eleanor shifts from collaboration with pirates to ending piracy. Vane now sees the bigger picture and the value of unity amongst pirates. Silver's selfish motivations are transitioning to selfless. These changes sets up the rest of the story brilliantly.

And that is really heartbreaking because all he wanted was to let go of Flint and now he can't be anyone else. One of the creators once referred to the show as a story about how uncivilized civilization can be and that really nails it. The people of Charles Town with their slave cages and throwing garbage at a woman's corpse are no better than those they try to judge. I hope y'all have a great vacation!

The dual scenes of their ship raining down on “whatever’s left” of Charles Town and Silver losing his leg with his brothers next to him is peak television. Black Sail’s first huge action set-piece episode was both technically perfect and emotionally resonant due to the outstanding writing. Speaking of which, Miranda’s last words last episode: “I want to see this whole goddam city, this city that you purchased with our misery, burn” and as her body was symbolically watching all the destruction take place this ep, Flint to Ashe: “Her word will be the last word for this place”. Wow ps Silver taking advantage of his own vulnerable state as the perfect time to lie to Flint (AGAIN) as Flint would probably be least suspicious is peak Silver haha

And not only has Max got a share of that fortune, but she's also bought out most of the establishments on Nassau where people are likely to SPEND that money. There were a lot of people who made a lot of smart moves this episode... but Max was the chess master in this particular game. Can't wait to see how you guys react to Season Three! It's my favorite season, although it HAS been quite some time since I last watched this show in its entirety.
