The parallels on the show are amazing. Every line has at least 4 different meanings at once. "The most compelling story requires a villain at its center" is one of my favorite lines. Mr. Scott is so wise and his daughter is equally smart. I adore her. I never get tired of Jack throwing shade at Woodes Rogers because I hate Rogers. 😂 Teach is the dad who wants his son to follow in his footsteps but Vane has to find his own way. It's an often told tale but this one really works.

What makes this reaction series my favourite isn’t just because N&S are completely loving the show, but that they appreciate and understand the complexities of the characters, mature relationships and the deep storytelling itself. I actually don’t think Black Sails is suited for every reactor out there, but always believed that it would be a perfect show for N&S. This might have been one of my favourite discussions you guys have had so far and that’s all I’ll say on the matter for now. The only other duel that I was as emotionally invested in was mountain/viper from GoT. What made it so heartbreaking was you could tell it broke both men’s hearts. You knew Vane didn’t want to betray his father figure, but he had finally built something together with his fellow captains and deep down that meant something to him and what he stood for. When Flint told him to forget about his loyalties to anyone and asked him “who are you?”, that was epiphanic for Vane. And Blackbeard, I don’t know if there’s been a character introduced halfway through a show full of amazing characters, in which I’ve gravitated towards this quickly. In an alternate universe he could’ve been the main character of this show and it would’ve been just as good.

To us Black Sails fans its always the black sheep (no pun intended) the sits there in the bottom half of votes in polls on reaction channels while newer stuff that's often not half as good flies ahead because its popular now, its such a kick to see you both loving the show, really happy you gave it a chance! I hope one day its brilliance will spread enough that it gets the recognition in reactor fanbases its owed
