2022-08-09 00:38:07 +0000 UTCUthred and King Alfred together are amazing. They both learn from one another even though both are hard headed.

2022-08-09 00:02:48 +0000 UTCAwww yep. It’s hard to stop. It’s set up for a binge type watch! Nikki and Steven haven’t really hit the meat yet. I feel like they will get more absorbed as they go along and learn the characters. Watching only 2 times a week, I couldn’t do it! I rem watching s4 in one day. And yeah. Uhtred, the actor is so good. He gets emotional. I cry. Every time. 😭

2022-08-08 03:24:33 +0000 UTCYep Ashley, it is. And as of today, I’m already into season 2 episode 3. I binged ‘cause I got totally hooked and I am not disappointed. I bawled my eyes out today. It’s getting SO good.

2022-08-06 05:49:31 +0000 UTCA slower episode that made me cry.. When Brida lost her baby and the reunion at the end but then the goodbyes. A really great show so far and can I just say the first thing I thought when Aethelwold was trying to claim the crown was, oh no.. not another Joffrey situation. So glad they bagged him and sent him away though I was surprised to see him at that table. It’ll be interesting to see what develops there.

2022-08-06 04:37:12 +0000 UTCI know the brother hug and goodbye always makes me cry 😭😭 “Leofric” is the Kings guard who calls Uhtred arseling… it’s an affectionate term in the fandom. I LOVE the dialog at the end, he says, “you can go back to being a Dane in a year, but question is who are you then?” That internal struggle of Dane and Saxon. What will that year make of him? Yes, he’s still green in how he responds to things. Action first, not thinking. Brida just, at her soul, that life is not her. Destiny is all… and Uhtred feels he has his. You guys are great at analyzing. Alfred is a well written character, I agree. On the vision. Just her and Ragnar. I know Nik said she wasn’t enthralled with the characters yet, but hope as more cast comes and plots unfold, she does! In the get to know you stage!

2022-08-06 02:06:46 +0000 UTCAlfred was sick. He really did suffer from some gastrointestinal sickness and so he by the time we meet him he is only able to eat broth/gruel and bland things. He can’t tolerate heavy foods.

2022-08-06 01:29:57 +0000 UTCThis show can be a slow boil at first but the investment is worth it. The budget & story gets bigger with every season. IMHO TLK is up there with other shows you've watched in terms of tight, solid writing from beginning to end. I believe Uhtred & Brida are supposed to be 18-20 years old at the beginning of the story, which tracks with him saying Brida has been "half of his life".
