2023-09-19 19:10:18 +0000 UTCAs for "King" Guthered, in my opinion it's all a farce. The only reason he is King is because the one abbot had a dream/vision about him. It's my opinion this abbot new he was weak minded and could control Guthred. This control would give the Abbot power which in all other cicumstances he would not have. Uthred got in the way of that. So the Abbot used Guthred's fear of not being seen as the real King or a weak King to influence circumstances against Uthred. All of this was leading up to the conversation where Uthred asks to be seen as an equal and threat just like the Dane Eric. Uthred saw this as a sign of respect. Plus I think he felt if he was seen as an equal to Eric then he could ask for Guisela's hand in marriage and it would be approved by Guttered. Unfortunately this failed because of Guthred's weakness

2023-09-19 19:09:12 +0000 UTCWhat is so great about this episode is how we see Uthred is able to establish loyalty amongst people he encounters. Sidhtric who left a rival Dane group to join Uthred; Cappa who was part of Guthred's group before Uthred saved him, Hild and Halig both from Wessex and now Guisela. All of them are going against powerful people to look for and support Uthred even if he's not around. Both Capps and Sidhrit know that Uthred would want Guisela protected so that is what they are doing even in his absence.

You guys are lucky to be able to watch the seasons back to back. It was hard having to wait between seasons. I can’t wait for the movie to come out.

The slave master Nikki recognised played a character called Lem Lemoncloak from Game of Thrones. One of the dudes that raided the village of the reformed Hound, who ended up hunting them down.

One of the best episodes ever, and the soundtrack.. Top tier, elevates the scenes to another level. Seeing Uhtred vulnerable really hurts. And the dynamic between Alfred and Uhtred is so good. DESTINY IS ALL!

This show has amazing writing, music, and most of all the chemistry that all the actors have with each other. Even when they introduce someone new the chemistry within the entire cast is always there
