There's some cool stuff in the extended version of the film, if you ever end up seeing it. Nothing that's especially necessary for the film but something I always loved about it was that you learn Ripley had a daughter, and in the 57 years she was in cryo-sleep, her daughter had died. It's terribly sad but it informs a lot about Ripley's experience with Newt, and gives their bond a much more powerful touch. I've always loved that extra bit of storytelling, even if it is pretty sad.

2022-11-24 03:06:57 +0000 UTCThis was awesome, thanks for reacting to this guys! There's an alien 3 and 4 but I don't think they'll be winning any poles. Like the Terminator movies most people just prefer the first two. I think this is a great conclusion for the characters. Also for those of us who saw this movie before Stranger Things season 2, we were all expecting Paul Reiser to betray the main characters like he did in Aliens. So in Stranger Things we were all pleasantly surprised that Dr. Owens was not a bad guy in the show. That was the Duffer Brothers playing on our nostalgia and changing expectations.
