April Poll! Cheat Codes for the Game

We've promised to add the cheat codes to the game since our first release, as all other games do. But the reason why we still haven't made it is that I honestly don't know whether and which ones we need. Below are the options that were offered on Discord or found in other similar projects, and my thoughts on each one.

Possible options:

1. infinite money. However, money is not really needed since there’s nothing to spend the money on (we plan to change the home quest into a scenario one instead of grinding). The two only options are heals (but since player can’t abandon the scenario quest we'd rather just give the player needed amount). And the second option is to buy beautiful things: costumes and gifts for girls and decor for the home. But having infinite money may ruin the whole point.

2. Unlock all scenes. If cheats are available only after completing the game it's senseless, and if we just let the player see all scenes in the beginning, there won’t be any interest in playing the game (and without relations and quest context the scene text will be worthless).

3. Skip quests. The same as 2, this will ruin the sense to play at all. Also, some quests have choices and nonlinear twists so skipping may ruin the gameplay.

4. Move speed. We could make player’s speed much higher so you can move through the quests way faster. But the problem is the cheats can be turned on/off only from the player’s home and you can’t exit the quest - so you may end up on one of locations where you need normal speed (like cellar maze or traps), and you won’t be able to turn off ultra speed until finishing the quest.

5. Maximum relation points. Except it isn’t a points system where you “farm” relationships to unlock new scenes. Our points are based on previous choices, so your dialogues get more personal: if you were harsh to the girl she’d be meaner too, and so on - having maximum points isn't equal to the best outcome here. And you can't replay the quests anyway.

6. Auto winning the date/PvE immortality. We have a detailed walkthrough on how to complete them if you're lost. But auto winning (skip in fact) will lead to players missing on complicated-yet-important content.

Maybe we just don't need cheat codes since they don't seem to fit in our game. If you think so, choose one of the two first options. We can simply not add them, or maybe...

We can just add the cheat room location as a joke, so when the player chooses "turn on the cheat mode" Naira enters and the horse guy scene starts 😂 Since we decided to remove this scene from the original Halloween episode, we can have it hidden here for fun, so it doesn't get completely erased from the game. Also, we can use trollface or doggo instead of the original black screen when the scene starts.

And then the dialogue: -Cheating is bad, John. -Hey you’re not even real, you can’t scold me! This is all still inside my mind. -You perfectly know the real me would say this. And would never cheat. Play fair.

PS: the cheats will become available when you complete the game: you'll get a secret password that you can use when starting a new game. Of course you can share your thoughts in the comments.
