I'm so happy to get your thoughts on this series. It was my first introduction to dark fantasy and I didn't even realize what I was getting into as a teenager. It's been a really good good deep dive so far.. There are parts of berserk that don't really come together until you see the whole.. Looking forward to getting there with you and reliving this series with fresh eyes!

Lost children is to this day still my favorite arc in Berserk

There's probably a way of breaking it up into the introduction to it and then diving into the bulk of it afterwards that could help the production process but there's definitely a 2 volume pair there that you don't want to have divorced from one another for sure. Lost Children is weird because it doesn't begin or end exactly at the beginning or end of any one volume and kinda just rolls on into the next parts piece by piece.

You nailed why I really like Berserk. I love dark fantasy, but this has the extra points of showing the aftermath of trauma and anxiety and not letting up like most stories do (cause in real life, many times they never go away). I have bad anxiety and it used to come out a lot as anger and frustration; once I realized that was really why Guts was such an asshole at the beginning of the story, I was amazed at how he slowly turned from a shallow meathead to one of the most complex characters I've ever read. A lot of guys I know masked their depression and trauma with anger and violence; I am just glad it is being acknowledged way more now than years ago, and media like Berserk are great ways to expose it through fiction.

honestly i think you should read all of the lost children before making a video on it, this is both because it is incredibly short in comparison to every other arc, and because i think the moral of the arc is diluted if one doesn't reach the end of it before discussing it.

suggestions for next chapter stopping point, depending on your mood you can do another shorter video just going up to the chapter 94/95, if only to make doing the next arc after that(going up to 113/114) in a single sitting slightly easier. EDIT: I just realized that's only like 2 chapters, okay, so just do all that.

i also think you will really enjoy lost children, feels like it has more of the things you enjoy in the story (though theres still some brainless small battles)
