Oh yeah, Morgase going to the Whitecloaks was the absolute dumbest thing she could possibly have done. That was an absolutely ridiculous plot point.

Is this why Egwene refused to tell Rand where Elayne was, to protect her from the news? And then, how did Taim KNOW Rand had been kidnapped and where to find him? Does he also have spies keeping watch on Rand? The lack of communication between peoples in the entire series is frustrating.

I’ve lost track of how many rereads I’ve done, and it’s still helpful to have it summarized, especially in such an entertaining way. Boxed Rand cutout was hilarious Just a note for my own edification because it’s not really relevant to the summary: one of my favorite little details of Dumais Wells is Sevannah running back and forth on a hilltop, waving a spear and shouting “Push the spears!”, over and over the entire battle. Her wise ones are killing themselves channeling, her warriors are out there fighting and getting blown up, and this asshat’s single contribution is telling them to do what they’re already doing by screaming FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! thinking it makes her a general

The Shadar Logoth sequence with the Rick and Morty clips…spot on! Good job! Nynaeve healing Logain is now the canon in my head whenever I come across this. I also love the Battlemap of Dumai’s Wells. I have not seen one before and now I need to see more battlemaps from WOT. Did you have a battlemap of Falme? Of Cairhien? Elayne jumps into the nightmare to save them, not Nynaeve. It is worth noting that Logain is as strong as he was before, but Siuan and Leanne is not. “We will come back to that later” I get you don’t want to spend to much time on the trip to Ebu Dar, but perhaps in a future video you can talk about the disrespect Vandene and Adaleas shows towards Elayne and Nynaeve? Just because they were not raised the proper way but with decree from a “puppet Amyrlin” Birgitte is the one with Elayne when she discovers the channeler in Ebu Dar. The rebels are in Caemlyn while the tower are in Cairhien. And Rand pretends to be greedy and takes the gold, I think. “I can always find use for more gold” or somesuch to loll them in false security. Perrin and Faile meets Rand in Caemlyn. Where Failes parents are…who did NOT approve of this marriage. Loial joins a few days later winning a bet towards Perrin. Gaul has been corrupting Loial. Min has a viewing about Parrin and Rand. Perrin needs to be there two time or Rand is lost. After that Rand tries to send Perrin away on multiple occasions. Min was taken before Rand. She was supposed to be with Rand when he met the Aes Sedai. They meet the rebel Aes Sedai and Perrins 300 Two Rivers men. They do not arrive during in Cairhien. And it is “only” Dobraines personal retainers, not a Cairhienen army. 500 is still a considering number then. Perhaps explain what Algai’d’siswai is here? I’m not sure I understand completely after I don’t know how many times I’ve gone through these books. Perrin does not enter via gateways. They get there the old-fashioned way. “Kneel, or you will be knelt” by Taim should get a mentioning. Right after the display of power from the Ashaman it carries so much weight. Damn, that makes my hackles rise every time.

2025-07-25 13:26:33 +0000 UTCOne point about the numbers of cairhienin and aiel that went to dumai’s wells: they did not want to draw attention to this because it would be bad for morale among the aiel. They were trying to be very subtle and quick, taking what they had available without drawing too much attention or make Cairihien vulnerable to an attack.

Always excited when the notifications come up 😊 I think it was said in the books that the Whitecloak taking Morgase to see Niall the day she signs wasn't deliberately showing her the hangings, that was more of a happy accident. Your description of Nyneave healing Logain was the BEST! Leane didn't feel her warder bond again when Siuan did, her's died a while ago, so she coaches Siuan on how to cope with the loss. Might also be worth mentioning how her and Leane are pretending to be at odds just to manipulate the Salidar 6. Tigraine was initially married to Taringail Damodred to make an Andor-Cairhein alliance and they had Galad. When she dipped Cairhein and also Laman were pissed because that lessened Taringail's power. It's not specifically said, but I think Laman made himself the new Sun Throne to make himself feel all powerful after that loss. But also it sounds like Taringail was a shit husband, so Tigraine didn't mind leaving him, but she hated leaving Galad. Taringail then married Morgase and they had Elayne and Gawyn. Taringail was also Moiraine's half brother from her father's first marriage, and Laman was her uncle. Rand actually plays into their bribery by saying he can always use more gold and looking greedy, which makes them think he's not clever. Sulin has toh because she addressed a gaishain as a Maiden by using hand talk to talk to her quickly when Rand was going to Shadar Logoth. I love the whiteboard drawing of Rand peeping on the meeting! Love you're quick Mat hanging inpression XD Taim's stick man should just be a salt shaker :p Rand meets Perrin and Faile in Caemlyn, not Cairhien, he takes them to Cairhien via gateway and leaves their followers to follow on food. I assume you're going to mention the rest of Fel's note in a future video, very integral content. I don't have my book on me to check the exact wording, but when they leave with Rand in a box, do they outright lie about him jumping through a gateway? Or do they just say something about him vaguely? Cause if they said he went through a gateway, that should have been a big red flag to some sisters that Galina wasn't all Red. Perrins forces didn't gave access to gateways, they just followed on foot and met up with the Two Rivers men and Caemlyn Aes Sedai on the road :) and it was just the ones from Caemlyn who swore at the moment of Dumai's Wells, the Tower ones have a bit to go through.
